Re: Microsoft Exchange Server Issue : Outlook Email
Hi!
I just want to add that yesterday all of a sudden I was able to get my emails and calendar from Microsoft exchange and i didn't do anything at all. Unfortunately, today when I powered on and off my phone, i started getting an error again. I also have a bunch of my co-workers who have androids and iphone and they can get all their emails thru microsoft exchange. I think this is only related to my phone, HTC touch pro 2... I wonder if there is an update that I need to do like Active Sync? etc? |
Re: Microsoft Exchange Server Issue : Outlook Email
Have you tried removing the account, soft resetting, and then setting up the account again? I have fixed Exchange errors (but not exactly yours) like this in the past.

Re: Microsoft Exchange Server Issue : Outlook Email
Yes... I have deleted partnership... deleted account and sync again... I actually reinstalled active sync 4.5 again...
I turned off SSL connection and I can sync only when I am USB ed to my laptop and synced. However, If I am not and just going through phone wireless its not syncing through microsoft exchange which is a pain because I can't get email on the fly... any other ideas? |
Re: Microsoft Exchange Server Issue : Outlook Email
Here is a suggestion. I had a similar issue back when I had Touch Pro - I needed to install a certificate on it before I could sync with OWA and the admin at my company also did not want to provide it because it was not an official company device (which was Blackbery). It is actually easy to get and install the certificate. Here is what worked for me and you can try that as well.
1) Step 1: Identify which public root certificate is used by your company. To do that, login to your OWA on your PC in internet explorer and click on the "lock" icon to display certificate information. Depending on the version of IE you are using it may be different but should be similar. For example, my company uses Go Daddy Certificate Authority and this is how I check in IE 7: http://img708.imageshack.us/img708/2879/step1s.jpg Click on the View Certificates to get the info. Again, here is what mine looks like: http://img691.imageshack.us/img691/7127/step2qv.jpg So this shows that my company uses Go Daddy CA and from the previous image it shows that it is Class 2 certificate. You can also confirm it by going into "Certification Path" link. Also, check the Valid date range to make sure it is not expired (believe it or not, sometimes they are!) 2) Step 2: Obtain the root certificate from your CA. All CAs make all of the root certs available for download on their website. You may have to google for it to find it unless your company happen to use Go Daddy CA which is what mine is using, then use the link below. All I needed to do is google for "download go daddy certificate" in my case which brought me to this link: https://certs.godaddy.com/anonymous/repository.seam I downloaded the following certs (not sure all were neded but it doesn't hurt): Go Daddy Class 2 Certification Authority Root Certificate Go Daddy Secure Server Certificate (Intermediate Certificate) Go Daddy Secure Server Certificate (Cross Intermediate Certificate) and saved them on my PC. 3) Step 3: Install certs onto yout TP2. I copied the certs that I downloaded in the step above to TP2 and after I copied them, I clicked on them to install them on the phone. This solved the identical issue I had with accessing exchange server with my TP in the past. Granted, I never had the same issue with TP2, but it is worth a shot. Hope it helps. |
Re: Microsoft Exchange Server Issue : Outlook Email
Hello there! Thanks for your reply and trying to help...
The certificate that my company uses is by UserTrust... see image below ... unfortunately, I was doing some search on the web and can't find the the same link or repository that you have for GoDaddy. http://www.mediafire.com/i/?opzzah5lrai2b6d http://www.mediafire.com/i/?opzzah5lrai2b6d http://www.mediafire.com/i/?opzzah5lrai2b6d It will be great if anyone of you can find this, if not I can probably just call them. I will give this a try... |
Re: Microsoft Exchange Server Issue : Outlook Email
Looks like they have their certs here:
http://www.usertrust.com/cacerts/ Not sure which one you want, maybe this one: UTN-USERFirst-ClientAuthenticationandEmail.crt you can try all of them though. Can you click on Certification Path tab and let me know what you see there? You can PM me if you have any concerns, but that info is public anyways, so should be fine. |
Re: Microsoft Exchange Server Issue : Outlook Email
Just and update, I was able to grab and find the certificate here..
http://www.instantssl.com/ssl-certif...ate-index.html I installed it on my phone and also verified that its under certificates which it was... however, I am still having an issue on connecting to exchange server through my phone wirelessly or data plan. I can sync thru exchange server thru my laptop when I am hooked to USB but when I unplugged and press Send/Receive, i get nothing... :( ... still looking for help and solution.. PS. Just a thought, is there another mail client that I can use that will do Microsoft exchange server? |
Re: Microsoft Exchange Server Issue : Outlook Email
Did you try installing all of the certs that I linked to here? http://www.usertrust.com/cacerts/
The one that you found may not be the right one... |
