iPhone 3GS for TP2??
I got an iPhone 3gs 32 gig white for my 25th bday and I ordered an iPhone4 the day before..
A friend of mine has a new Touch Pro 2 and was wanting my 3Gs..Is it worth it?? Just really wandering if it's worth it. Mines unlocked and jailbroken(it's a factory unlock). Thanks guys ~SMurf And as for unlocking and flashing, I've done it and am very comfortable doing it..Are the roms good?? |

from experience you have better luck selling it outright to someone, then purchasing a tp2, the 32gb 3gs can be quite valuable to someone compared to a tp2 from a resale standpoint. That's from my opinion and experience in sales, but its up to you cupcake. |
Re: iPhone 3GS for TP2??
Itll depend on what you are looking for. If customization is your thing than youll probably like it. And yes there are many good roms but there all differant. You would have to try them yourself and see what you like. Hope this helps.

Re: iPhone 3GS for TP2??
value, speed, apps 3gs definitely.
Customization, "freedom", tp2 |
Re: iPhone 3GS for TP2??
No it's not worth a straight trade. You are better off outright selling the iPhone and then buying a TP2 if you want one.
That internal storage capability makes it a valuable commodity. You'll want at least $300'ish for it, where a TP2 owner is lucky to get $200-$225 for their used phones. |

The only few advantages of the tp2 are swype, tethering and hardware keyboard and actual phone abilities. My old 3G and even 2g, easily are better devices. The tp2 really can't compare |

Re: iPhone 3GS for TP2??
I know about the price difference and shit(and mine's factory unlocked as well), but as long as it's got WiFi and I can tinker with it, I love it. I'll prolly use it for about a month and ebay it anyway.
I've had a couple 6900's and a few other WinMo phones, and have always wanted a TP2. I'm still thinking about it but idk. I agree with the previous posters that said sell the 3gs 32gb and buy a TP2 if you want but to say a TP2 doesn't compare to an iphone 2g or 3g is an ignorant statement. IMO Most people have issues because they need a "dumb" smartphone like the iphone and the TP2 or any other WinMo device for that matter is too far over their head. You can pretty much do anything with WinMo that you can do with a pc it's just smaller. |

Safari > opera by a country mile Phone response iPhone Tether tp2 Phone stability iPhone by far Apps iPhone Speed iPhone Infrastructure iPhone Taking notes with actual writing tp2 Service provider tp2 in a huge way Build quality iPhone by far Even when equipped with the best rom possible, the iphone's stock is is simply much much better. Think of win ME vs win 2000. Tp2 is the win me of this era. |

Software is the tp2's biggest downfall. To call my statement ignorant is laughable. |
Re: iPhone 3GS for TP2??
When people are debating between 2 phones, and the iphone is one of them, why do people always compare apps??
The iPhone is a smartphone..Bottom line.It does cool shit, but in the end, it's still a phone. Then theres the TP2. Computer?? Thats what I thought as well..lol The TP2 beats the iPhone on soooo many levels it's not even funny. In regards for the apps...screw your apps..lol..we have applications..There the big brother to the iphones "apps"...lol Anyway, I am getting a white iPhone 4, ut that is only because I'm gonna put it on ebay and make maybe x3 my money when I sell it. I just like the TP2. I will say tho, the iPhone has the best keyboard I have ever used on any phone. |

To keep my phone reliable, I have to set cleanram to do a soft reset every morning, otherwise it becomes very slow. |

Re: iPhone 3GS for TP2??
Like I said before its going to be a matter of what it is your looking for a phone. both have pros and cons. The iphone is nice if you just want something that works good out of the box and cool apps. the tp2 needs some tinkering and customization to get it the way you like it. People on these boards, myself included, enjoy customizing and messing with tweaks. Some can be overwhelming but with some research its pretty fun. It'll always be iphone vs etc. For me personally, the iphone is pretty boring. Even jailbroken your still limited to customization (Example: home screen layout) I have an Ipod touch 32g jailbroken and that suits my needs for what it is/does. Again its all about personal preference.

Re: iPhone 3GS for TP2??
I can understand if ppl dont like the iphone but why hate it? It may not be a very open OS but in terms of stability and smoothness iOS completely dominates WinMo. If u dont like the cage of the iPhone but at the same time u dont wanna have to troubleshoot your phone the majority of the day, (Ask any WinMo user) I would go for android or wait on WP7.

Re: iPhone 3GS for TP2??
LOL @ people sticking up for the TP2, as much as i love mine, it simply doesnt compare to how smooth and snappy the iphone is.
Comparing a 2 day fresh stock ROM TP2 to an iphone MIGHT come close, but it seems like the TP2 self destructs over time. I got my TP2 last week, ran fine, its been literally 10 days and now my phone is starting to slow down... quite dissapointing really, but I guess thats windows mobile for ya. |
Re: iPhone 3GS for TP2??
Personally i like the Iphone for the apps and touchscreen but when if come down to it i prefer the freedom i have with my TP2. Using windows 6.1, then changing to 6.5, and now droid, and then when it come out windows 7.

Re: iPhone 3GS for TP2??
to quote, "big f'ing deal. my 8 year old nieces sh..ty boost mobile phone has apps on it. " not a deal breaker by far. my tp2 has been the best phone ever for me . I know how to utilize it to its maximum, I have never gotten these 10 day old slow downs that some people seem to incur. I'm on stock 6.5 and it runs right as rain for me. hvae fun trying to run ios4 on the 3gs with alll the reports of slowdown and lag on it.

Re: iPhone 3GS for TP2??
not worth it man, not at all, you could get an HD2 or something way better. regardless of what your preferred device is, the 3GS is worth much more "on the streets" than a pro2 easily.

I would say do it up, however I am a notorious iPhone hater, so my opinion may be void on this topic. However I have NEVER had my TP2 steer me wrong. I love it like a fat kid loves cake!! As far as from my POV, I find that the TP2 has a far better Interface (even prior to messing with Custom ROMs), It is just BEAUTIFUL. I also find that the TP2 runs worlds faster. I like the WMv6.5.5 as it is so versitile and you can do ungodly amounts of things with it (basically just about anything a PC will do). With my TP2 I have my own Custom ROM made just for me, and I love it. I would not trade it for a single device on the (US) Market right now (though, as soon as the Dell Streak hits, I am GONE). So all in all, I would say go for it. Worst case scenario you have a better phone that you are not happy with, that you could then trade for something that is still better then the iPhone 3GS [3rd Generation S**T]. [Note - I forewarned that I was a HTC and TP2 biased person, so Deal with it) |

Re: iPhone 3GS for TP2??
OK. I'ce read thru all the replies and I've seen alot of the same stuff that alot of WinMor users experience..Lag..But hey..it is Microsoft.
I've done the deal as seeing as he is a VERY good friend of mine and he threw in $250 cash plus the phone...I'm not bitching..lol I do like the iphone, but I fell like I'lll get more fun out of the TP2. Someone said I was with Verizon..Weel, I was..Now I'm with AT&T so I'm gonna hunt up the app to unlock the T-Mobile TP2 and give it to the misses. I appreciate all the input and I really gain some information. Thanks folks |
Re: iPhone 3GS for TP2??
