Do I have to reformat this card?

Son gave me a 16G class 6 card the other day. He had used it in his blackberry for about a year. Do I have to reformat this to use in my TP2? I see some folders on it that looks like BB stuff. Something about mediasync... lots of music in there. It seems to play through WMP but not through the TouchFlo tab... would a reformat help? If so how does one reformat these SD cards? Thanks...

i would save what you want and format it. then put the music in a "My Music" folder. To format using computer, just connect to computer and choose disk mode and then format the drive. Or on your phone, you can go to setting and pick the format sd card utility. NOTE: Dont use Clear Storage. Thats to do a hard reset on your phone.

It's always best to format the card with the device it will be used in. On my card I have all my songs in a folder named just "Music" and TF3D found them without issue.

It will actually find music anywhere on the card. I've got a bunch of ringtones tossed into the root of my sd, the stock ones on my device, and a couple of different music folders and the phone finds them all, it searches for the file type. It's just easier the find them if storing them in one common folder.
