How to get correct Flash Player
Folks-
Here is the problem. My Verizon TP2 has a youtube app. I can watch youtube videos all day long. However if someone sends me an email link to a youtube video I can not watch it (wrong flash player). Also I check CNN news mobile website (http:/m.cnn.com). There are videos on there and I can not play them. I am surprised that I can watch them on the youtube app, but not in the browser. What do I do??? JG |

Re: How to get correct Flash Player
+1 on Skyfire. If you want Full(ish) Flash Support, Skyfire is the ONLY browser out right now that is going to be able to give it to you.
Opera Mobile 10 is by FAR my favorite Web Browser, however, for the time being it does NOT support Flash (stupid, right). I guess until Opera allows us to watch our flash videos, we will have to have multi-browsers running (which really is no big deal). |
Re: How to get correct Flash Player
OK, Thanks all. I will give it a try. Many like Opera, not a huge fan. I have tried every instruction to get more than two tabs.... Fuggheddiboudit
One last question. If I have an email with a link to a youtube video, how can I get opera to skyfire to open, and not Opera? Thanks, downloading skyfire now. |
Re: How to get correct Flash Player
Here is what I got out of Starfire.
I got a different keyboard out of the deal that is horrible. I had that small keyboard, not the standard one awhile ago so I guess I will figure out how to change it back. It did a lousy job of the videos, choppy, would not play back, but it did open it and play them, which is better than Opera. |
Re: How to get correct Flash Player
The youtube app seems to play youtube videos the best for me. However, there's no way that I know of to take a link that someone's sent you and access it with the youtube app. I would love to be able to do that, even if it meant I had to paste it into the app somewhere.

Re: How to get correct Flash Player
the first time you install skyfire, it will let you pick to make it the default browser. that will make most links open with skyfire.

this app opens youtube links in emails and such directly with the default youtube app. give it a shot |
Re: How to get correct Flash Player
i thought verizon TP2's were crippled with much less RAM/ROM? Are people running skyfire vids OK with them?
I also know Verizon data network has MUCH less bandwidth then sprint (3G)... but none of what I said matters if others on their network are running vids OK... Just a thought (many of the people answering you are on Sprint) |
