It looks like disabling autorotation does interfere with Teeter, which I do not want, so I am going to concentrate on manila / sense by removing it from the whitelist and modulename under gsensor.

Then, with disable keyboard wakeup and the CamAppActive setting, I will have the phone working precisely as I had hoped.
