force 1x to ev?
 

my wife's blackberry now shows "ev" on her display where it used to say 1x...but my tp2 still says 1x. can i force it to change?

try a PRL update, then soft reset, then update profile.

Im in an area that has no 3G so ii have to do this all the time in order to get 3G.. It works great and doesnt require a soft reset:

1) Open Registry Editor - Go to HKLM\SOFTWARE\OEM\EPST - DWord entry PreferMode = 4 (Automatic)
2) Change Value to 10 (HDR Only)
3) Exit Registry editor
4) Disable Radio (Just turn Airplane Mode ON)
5) Enable Radio (Just turn Airplane Mode OFF)

This will allow you to force 3G but be aware that you will not be able to receive calls or texts while 3G is forced. Hope that helps

ok, tried the *228 for the prl update, but it got the "unable to update your phone message". btw, my brother has us cellular here, and his tp2 automatically switched to "ev"...so how do i get mine to switch over?

i really don't know uscc codes...
i have sprint and it is in my advanced settings

if you manual update your prl with this one it should put you on Ev

to up date go here

to get msl code go here the msl code works with the US cell

and the file is the newest PRL from uscell

and if ##778 dose not work then ##778# should work
