Touch Pro 2 and root certificates

Hi all,

I have a user who just picked up a touch pro 2 with the stock verizon rom on it, and i'm having some difficulty getting Exchange mail set up on it. I was able to successfully set up the mailbox (as far as I can tell) but her calendar and mail didn't sync up. We tried this over-the-air. I also suggested she could try using active-sync to get it set up from her computer.

We have seen certificate problems with our Exchange Server 2007 and WinMo devices as well. If that is the case, could anyone let me know if a verisign root certificate comes installed with verizon's stock rom? does anyone have experience installing one? I'm assuming I can just go to https://www.verisign.com/support/roots.html and get what I need if it isn't?

thanks for the help in advance.

Try giving this a run from your device, Exchange 2007 servers are kinda lame and require you to modify some security policies.

I'm not getting any error messages. We did have some devices that were giving us a alphanumerical error 0X80072F0D back when we completed the server upgrade. Might this still work?

Also, will this patch install like a .cab where it could be uninstalled if she ran into a problem and had to take the phone to verizon? i don't want to do anything that could potentially void her warranty.

I've had problems because the TP2 will not pull the cert from the server and have to install in manually. here are quick instructions on how to obtain the cert. hope this helps:
here are quick instructions on how I obtained the Cert and so forth. Hope it helps.

On your home computer, log into your OWA. Make sure to click the box “this is a private computer”

Once in your email, left click the lock located next to your address bar

And select "view certificates",

Then select “details tab”, "copy to file" button,

The dialogue box opens so click "next",
Select the P7B and the include all certificates check box,
Then give it a file name and destination.

I just save it on the root of my card and install it after every flash

this is an exe and no it wont uninstall, but dont worry it wont change anything bad. the policies it changes are what all chefs include in custom roms already to ensure exchange works.
