Sprint GSM TP2
 

Hi, i recently got the touch pro 2 as a replacement for my touch diamond and i noticed that i can switch between CDMA and GSM or Global I wanted to try to put it on GSM only but i get no networks at all when i press on select networks it brings up a white page with no networks on it is there anything that i can change to get GSM Networks instead of Sprint CDMA ? i have a sim card in the phone from sprint and i still dont get any GSM networks Any Help Would Be Great Thanks :-o

As far as I can tell, No.

There is no way to switch it to GSM only. The Sim Cards only purpose is for use out of the country.

Also you CAN NOT flash GSM roms. Only use the CDMA Custom Roms.

is there a way to flash the Sprint TP2 to work with US GSM networks ? it look like their are some interesting roms over in the CDMA Roms that unlock GSM in the US

I am not sure off the top of my head. Let me jump over there and do some reading. I will get back to you on the subject asap however.

go to the tp2 upgrades section, read the sim unlocker thread :).

yeah the SIM unlocker will let you use GSM networs. You still CANNOT use GSM radios. someone here bricked their phone a couple days ago trying to flash a GSM radio...

Sim unlocker will allow you to pop in GSM sim card and use it in the US, but you can only flash CDMA ROm's and radios or you will have a nice new paperweight, as Kliptik noted. Read the thread the doc noted about the unlocker and if you're still not sure, post you're questions. We'd rather you ask the questions and be completely sure about what you're doing, than post that you just bricked your phone.
