Windows Mobile Device needed to unlock phone?

I can't seem to install WMD on my PC, it says a component is missing and doesn't tell me what. Does this mean I can't sync up my phone with my PC?

Are you using XP or Vista/7 on your PC?

WMDC only works with Vista or Windows 7. If you're running XP, you need to use ActiveSync
