I have personally never gotten the SOD (knocks on wood & now waits for the SOD, lol). However, I tend to do quite a bit of mod trial and error (alot now that I am working on programming for the Rhodium and learning as I go) and this had let to a good ammount of soft (and hard) resets.

I will certainly agree that the soft-reset button is in a piss poor spot. At the very least, there could have already been A hole in the battery cover for easy access to the button. Hopefully they will learn from their mistakes when it comes to the TP3.

well that's good, i dont know what causes the SOD but i've tried so many different solutions, sometimes they work sometimes they don't.. Yes hopefully they will but it still would have been nice to see it on the tp3 if they decide to release one. If you google HTC HD3 they already have one in the works with leaked photos. A 4'6 inch hd screen with windows phone 7.

SOD 'seems' to happen when device is busy. Display on does not have permission to run when other programs are running is how it appears to me. Somebody at HTC mucked it up is another current theory of mine.

Yea i guess that makes sense. I just called sprint to ask about the glowing scratches or whatever they should be called but they said they can't put in a new screen over that.

Thanks for the heads up on the HD3. I am sure that HTC will make the TP3 however. It seems to me the Rhodium did well on sales and if someone will buy something then someone will make it.

I love how in the 90s the companies all tried to make phones super small and now they are all geeting huge again (granted huge in a sleek and sexy way).

Either way I have no intentions of offing my Rhodium for quite some time, and it would have to be something really badass for me to give it up (sorry Evo, but you just don't make the cut)

Removing scratches:
You could try using something like Meguiar's Plastic Polish. It's like an extremely fine but abrasive wax meant to clear up worn plastic headlight lenses and stuff.. Not sure how it would work on a phone so I'd try a practice run on some other object first.

I would strongly recommend against using anything that has abrasive material in it on a Touch screen.

I would all but guarentee this would only lead to bigger issues.

However, you may want to look into some of that liguid crap that is used to remove scratches from glasses (though I don't know how well it would work on a touchscreen).

Also if all else fails, you can replace the touchscreen (granted only if the scratches are really that big of a deal to you).
