Screen Align keeps starting up. (Annoyance)
 

I have VZN TP2 running NRG 6/22 Rom. It seem every time I am on the phone for more than a few minutes, The Screen Align Util automatically starts up soon as I take the phone away from my face. I then have to go through the click on the Cross hairs several times through before the device will leave that screen. This happens almost every time I get or make a call. I dont think it is the ROM as I have had the same issue with other roms.

Is there a way to disable the screen align util completely so that this does not happen? Am I holding the phone up my face wrong or something that could be causing this?

I wosh i could help you out...I used to have that prob on my TP2 an i was on Sprint ....It wouldnt matter what ROm i had... a Cooked one or stock it kept doing that! That was one of my factors to getting the EVO cuz that screen would pop up an then it would take 5 mins to get rid of it or id just be like F it an take the battery out

if it does this across multiple ROMs, I would flash back to stock and make sprint fix/replace it.

I've had it pop up a few times, but it seams to always conflict with the lock screen. what is the shortcut (buttons) to this screen anyway?

I had it happen for the first time today and its really annoying. Just once tho. Hopefully that's it.

op, do your volume buttons work properly? if so, then I think 'your holding the phone wrong'.... lol..

learn something new everyday.. had no idea you could hold down both volume buttons and tap screen to make trhe screen align pop up..

Yep, That is absolutely the problem. Seem the TP2 kinda sorta has a "Grip of death" of its own.
I hold the phone in my left hand (which Puts my Thumb right on the Volume buttons), If I Attempt to adjust the volume at all during a call while the phone screen is touching my face.. Yep, Going to have do the Screen align dance before I can do anything else.

Anyone have a cab or know of any way to disable this extremely annoying feature? I hate having to realign my screen after almost every call. (and yes, I have to adjust the volume a good bit depending on who is calling me. Some people speak softly and others way too loud)

if you remap those keys with rhodiumkeyboard config it should block the simultaneous button press. I have mine mapped as up/down arrows and default key action on long press and cannot get into the alignment screen. (I can with this disabled)

I am actually shocked that more people are not having a problem with this. It has me about ready to toss my TP2 in the trash because of having to realign the screen after almost every phone call where I had to adjust the Volume for some reason. Most annoying "feature" I have ever seen.

hello guys. i dont know if iam on the right thread but this is the closet that i found to be close to my problem.. ok i have a HTC pro 2 . and now the phone turns on but when touching or tapping the screen it wont respond. i even reflashed using factory ROM to see it that help and it didnt help. now when the phone turns on but stays on the first screen that you get when you flash the factory ROM where it says tap the screen to do what ever comes next wich its calibrating the screen. but nothing happens when i tap the screen. so i had to go back to my blackberry so in order to have a working phone for the mean time.. does anyone have an idea why the screen isnt respodning? the funny thing is this phone was working fine. i recieved a phone call first thing and the morning and the phone worked fine. when i got the second incoming call thats when the shit hit the fan .. if anyone know please let me know thanks..

you can try mymobiler to use a pc to progress past the calibrate screen, but if a few hard-reset's don't resolve the issue then I think your digitizer went kaput. thankfully they havn't taken all the buttons away.. yet..

i simply dont jknow why is doing this.. it was working fine.. i could see if i dropped it or got wet or what ever. but iam honest it was working fine and now it wont do nothing. its got picture but when i tap it it wont do anything. i feel like smashing it. it didnt last 1 month. i bought it of a friend of mines used but hardly used.. since he upgrated to an evo.. and activated exactly on july 6th and here it is not even a month ...

so have you tried mymobiler?
it's possible that the calibration data is just wayyy out of wack. have you tried a task29?
also pulling the battery overnight could spook the ghosts.

just all of a sudden one day it doesn't work anymore...

at least that's how it happened to my wife's touchpro, wouldn't pass the align screen
i know it's a different phone, but same concept (and my experience of the digitizer going out)

lol although she just took it into the store and they gave her a brand new TP2 :mrgreen:

yes i had tyed tash 29 a bunch of times and i even left the battery out to seee if y resets or something and nothing happened. i give up. my friend told me this phone has like 3 months left on the warranty. i wonder what should i do? i know reload back the factory rom wich i just did. but i dont know if i have to relock it or what ever so that HTC doesnt give me crap....
