Tethering No Longer Works w/ CAB or WMWiFiRouter...???
 

I went to tether tonight as I have done in the past (I already installed the cab / edited the registry to allow tethering through Sprint) and it kept hanging up at "waiting / check USB connection. For the heck of it I also tried WMWiFiRouter and it was hanging up at "waiting for USB connection" as well. I have restarted my computer and done a soft reset on my TP2 as well.

ANy ideas what could be causing this? I have never had any problems in the past and have not installed anything new recently.

Same here. I also noticed that other tweaks(GT2L's) were not functioning also.

Bump...any ideas?

I can tether fine by setting WMWiFiRouter to make my TP2 act as a router, but tethering either way (Sprint built-in or Wmwifi) via USB is a no go all of a sudden.

have you tried a different usb cable or pc port.

Yes, I have tried 2 different cables and all 3 ports.

I can ActiveSync and charge my phone just fine.

check the proxy settings on the sprint connection--the proxy settings from your PC might have overwritten the settings on your phone.

i just tried with wmwifirouter 3g 2 usb and it just works fine without any changes

Any idea what these Sprint proxy settings should be or how to make sure the computer has not overwritten them?

settings>connections>connections> set up my proxy server.

otherwise it's possible epst settings may be going into full effect now with a new data stream in the mix. in epst (##778#) under M.IP Settings, set MIP_MODE to Mobile IP Preferred.

proxy settings on mine are blanked out--the only think checked is "this network connects to the internet". everything else is either unchecked or blank.

not sure how to keep it from changing when connected via activesync.
