SMS error
 
The problem I have is when I try to send a message over 160 characters, it only sends the 2nd part and gives an error, code 5 to be specific. I've looked all over and for a long time for a solution. What I have come up with is that when I use MightyRom or Mr.X rom I do not have this problem. I am using the stock MR2 Verizon rom now and I have the problem. Does anyone else have this issue or know a solution?

I'm an Alltel hybrid but I use a Verizon PRL because I read that was the problem, which it wasn't. I have tried both PRLs and neither work this out. Using Radio 2.35 or whatever the newest one is. Hopefully someone can help me with this.

Sounds like you answered your own question, go back to ether MightyROM or Mr. X rom.

i cant even find anything in google about that. can you give more details on the error?
have you tried a hard reset or *228?
The new mr2 rom is suppose to install a new PRI 2.08. Can you go to your settings and open device information and verify which you have.

or...just do what Wesley said and go back to Mr.x or MightyRom. either of those are way better then the mr2 rom.

thanks for the replies, I just always like the manila start menu and sense 2.5 but I will more than likely go back to mightyrom or mr.x

Well if anyone else cares to know a solution, as stated above the PRI on mightyrom and mr.x was a sprint PRI so I found a .cab for sprint PRI and followed the instructions, had to update my PRL afterwards bc it was a sprint PRL but no more errors and feels like a better connection, no more jumping from 1x to 3G..

You must be confused about somethings. custom roms do not have a PRI. only shipped stock roms do. So, mightyrom and mr.x do not have a pri. when you flash a custom rom you keep the same pri that you had before. same thing with prl. custom roms dont have them. only shipped stock roms do. so...how did you get a sprint pri and prl on your phone if you have verizon tp2? did you flash the sprint shipped stock rom or something?

I was searching around and found a .cab that installed the PRI and the steps to update it. This could explain a lot because I used it for a day and ran into the same problem later that day. So I just went back to MightyRom. So I'm still unsure of the actual fix but I know its something in the stock rom and definitely has to do with my Alltel merge

Anyone else getting an SMS error like mines?

I constantly have a new message showing on my tool bar, but hitting on messages there are none. This error happened when I tried to send a message to someone, but instead of sending it to them, it got sent back to myself and the error has been there ever since.
