CDMA Sprint TP2 on Boost Mobile

Hi all... I just activated my Sprint Touch Pro 2 with Boost Mobile. All I had to do was call Boost Mobile and say that my phone is defective and I have another phone that would like to use; They asked me what phone I had and I said it was a "C290". Then they asked for the ESN# and they walked me thru the steps to activate it. It worked right away... The only problem I have is with the internet... I need to configure the internet settings to work with Boost Mobile. I really need help with that. If anyone has any idea how to get it working please let me know...

Are you on the stock rom or a custom rom? If you're using the stock rom, it should work right off the bat...for me anyways, it did.

If you're flashing a custom rom, and want to be able to send MMS messages, you'll need to find the correct Arcsoft cab or one that's tweaked to allow you to send MMS.

Good luck!

All you need to do is install the Sprint Profile Updater and run (PRL update - Firmware Update and Profile Update) That should take care of that...

Re: CDMA Sprint TP2 on Boost Mobile

Well, first off you need a Boost Mobile branded CDMA phone / account. It's best to buy an older used Boost branded CDMA phone, you can probably find one on ebay for about 20+ bucks depending on the model of phone. Look for Motorola C290, W385, and KRZR1...make sure esn is clear before purchasing it. If you do not want to go that route, you can purchase the new Boost CDMA phones (Sanyo Incognito or Samsung Rant).

Anyways, don't know if I can post all the steps on how to do it on here, but if you like, you can PM me, and I'll tell you how to do it.

EDIT: If I get a few people asking on how to get the TP2 on Boost Mobile, I'll write up a guide on how to do it.

If I helped you in any way, feel free to hit the "Thanks" button.

I am having trouble getting my tp2 set up for internet and mms. I have tried the Sprint Profile Updater and keep getting errors 67 and 1012. I would appreciate your help.

BTW I do have talk and text working.

Re: CDMA Sprint TP2 on Boost Mobile

Is there a standard on all these sprint phones? I got windows mobile 6.1 on my htc snap, I got all the things working, and sometimes the text goes through without having to type in ****@vzwtxt.com or whatever to send a text. I guess what I am asking is on a stock rom is there a way to change the settings so I can text like normal again? No way I will call boost, they said my phone wouldn't work but it did, he even said to my wife it wont work, we already had it programmed at that point he just didn't understand us lol. so now all works just the MMS SMS is flaky. Sorry to hijack but I searched and found nothing on the snap!

Real simple. You have to have an active Boost Mobile CDMA (non walkie talkie) account working. Next call customer service, tell them:

A. You have an Incognito or
B. Tell them you have an old broken phone you want to activate because your current one broke. Tell them its an old cheap phone your buddy gave you. Tell them you can't even see the model anymore.

Whatever you do, do not tell them you have a TP2 you want to activate. The TP2 must be a Sprint phone in order to work. Be comfortable and courteous. The Rep should guide you through the steps to get it activated. Once activated, text, data, and phone should work right out the box. MMS might not. The TP2 is sluggish out of the box, so you might want to do some upgrading.

If you want a fast and snappy TP2. Go to Mighty Rom, download 6.20 version, install MMS, Cookie, CHt, overclocking, and your good to go!! (hahaha, seriously, this is what I have. Overclocking at 748! Super fast TP2!)

Which overclocking and MMS program do you use with MightyROM?
