If I have to soft reset one more time!!!!!!

](*,)Im going to flush this thing down the toilet...on purpose this time!!!!! I've had to soft reset this thing literally 4 times a day. This started on Friday (the 18th) and the record 2day is 5 soft resets by the way. It keeps freezing and I have no idea what could be causing this problem. I try to keep my mms/sms inbox cleaned out so that's not the problem. Sounds like im going to be getting rid of this thing very soon. Can anybody tell me what it could be??? Has anybody had and problems recently????? It just started all of sudden?!?!??!?!?!?

if you flash a custom rom most of your issues generally go away.

What is the most recent thing you've installed?
why don't you try a hard reset?

Re: If I have to soft reset one more time!!!!!!

Are you on stock, if not, what custom ROM are you on and if stock which ROM 6.1 or 6.5? Are you sure you're on the most updated HSPL? Did you do anything immediately prior to the issues creaping up, i.e. adding apps, flashing new ROM, etc? And if you're on custom, try task29, flashing ROM again (maybe w/ a new d/l, possible corrupt d/l), clear storage and set her up again.

Use Mr. X 'fixed' stock 6.5 ROM, it eliminates SOD ( sleep of death ). It's the second article on the main page, at least it was...

not sure it will provision to Sprint, the OP's posted carrier.
I think a hard reset is in order and maybe a custom ROM flash.

Re: If I have to soft reset one more time!!!!!!

Look at what you have installed lately. Software can have incompatibility issues with some ppc phones. Even registry tweaks can cause them too. If all fails, you do have a choice- hard reset. Use software like MemMaid http://www.dinarsoft.com/memmaid/ or Sktools http://www.skkvsoftware.com/?sktools/m_feat.html to keep your tp2 maintained.

Re: If I have to soft reset one more time!!!!!!

To get the best advice you need to say what ROM you are on weather it be stock or custom and if stock whether or not its 6.1 or 6.5.

Nrfitchett, in regards to your original comment, read X's thread, it may not be fixing the SOD for everyone, but he said he did fix it for his user base with a different driver. He also did some work on the latest VZW 6.5 rom, however he never claimed to have fixed it for every user on every ROM, that's more for the chef of those rom's to work on.

Aww come on guys. It's not winmo that's the problem, or else EVERYONE would have to soft reset their phones 4-5 times a day. Personally, I haven't had to soft reset in months (can't go wrong with Mightyrom!)

Anyway OP, many of these users gave you good advice. Back up your info (pics, contacts, or whatever) then hard reset or flash a custom rom.

I haven't added anything new that's why I was confused as to why it was just happening all of a sudden. I have stock 6.5...

i would hard reset it. you might have a messed up mem card too, so remove that and see.

When I got this phone and was on stock, it froze CONSTANTLY... but since I unlocked and flashed, resets have been minimal... definitely work a custom flash, as others have suggested, if you haven't done so already...

Re: If I have to soft reset one more time!!!!!!

I agree with a previous poster. Just back everything up and do a hard reset. If the problem continues before you install anything new, then you'll know that it's hardware based rather than software based. I've had my phone for over a year with no issues, so you may just have a bad one. It happens...

I never used Sprints stock 6.5, but there have been a lot of complaints about it, that may be the problem, or just some corruption going on.

I haven't finished reading the entire thread yet but I know I have to reset daily and I have a fully stock, latest updated phone... had it replaced less than 2 weeks ago. Cache cleared and all

ps I've replaced this phone 4 times with asurion with the same issues each time...

Haven't people noticed a theme here, everyone having to softreset on a daily basis are running a stock rom, The stock ROM sucks. Time to move to a custom ROM and watch that issue fade away.

Call me cheap but I'm not paying to have access to unlock my phone only for it to break, get lost and I have to pay again for me to unlock it... unless things have changed regarding paying to unlock the phone I'll keep the stock and kepe gettin new phones from Sprint. In addition, I haven't used the custom clean up because some things I want to keep, don't want to have to reinstall the things I want to keep.

I would think paying a few dollars to keep from having to exchange the phone all the time would be well worth it but hey thats just me.

Yeah, but even when I had a custom rom the phone still froze and a few other things... I know no phone is perfect but I rather eat at five guys then pay $5 (joke)... I guess I'm just not that interested in having a custom rom for me to purchase it. But I do feel the original poster's pain with resetting the phone...

Who said you have to pay to unlock your phone and flash custom roms? You guys must be talking about the Sim unlock...

I didn't have to pay a dime to flash my phone to a custom rom...

Yeah, neither did I until one time after I lost my cell, got a replacement and when I tried to do the unlock (slr or whatever it's called) it asked to upgrade/pay to unlock my phone. I know you can use different IP addresses to do that but I do most of this at home on my laptop, don't really want to take my laptop to another IP address just to get the phone unlocked, next time I'll have to find another IP address.. I guess I'm getting old... lol

I paid the first time. Didn't care, 5$ for unlimited unlocks...totally worth it. The work that cmonex put into it, awesome.
