have you tried to call sprint and tell them you get poor service? also, do you have a modem and router? ive seen many instances of sprint giving out free airraves to boost signal in your home. the fee is 4.99 a month, but you can usually talk them in to a free device and waive the payments for a year or so.

get the zboost cell phone signal extender, this is what i use in my home in brooklyn. get the dual band model(yx510-pcs-cel) it'll work with every carrier except nextel, it also improves internet signal, i believe airave only works for phone calls(not totally sure) they are expensive so try ebay 1st.

Airrave works well for phone calls I have one but if your internet connection is down then its out of commission. You will have trouble I'd imagine plugging it into a hardwire port without firewall issues but I could be wrong. I was close to out of contract i told them my signal was bad and i asked if i could get one for free if i extend my contract. They did it and gave me a credit for the amount monthly as well. If you need extra evdo it won't work just 1X.
