Re: Verizon Touch Pro2 MR2 Update includes Sense 2.5
Regarding the memory leak (which I am having as well), the problem is definitely related to Sense 2.5. My free memory was 8MB with nothing running. Switched to Titanium and free memory jumped to 58MB. Go back to Sense and it gave me 28MB free. I know there is overhead with Sense but it shouldn't be leaking with no user application running.
Also, restarting Sense (instead of switching Today screens) might be just as good though I will now have to wait until my phone drips for a while. I tried it when it got down to 20MB free (with Sense running), did a restart of Sense and it bumped it back to 28MB free. |

OK. Ran another memory test. Nothing running, TP2 down to 15MB (93% used). Restarted Sense, memory went back up to 26MB (85% used). Not great but better than doing a reset.

+1 I agree this is really annoying! I delete mail and it is still on the server... Also when I go into account settings on sense mail screen I can't do anything with my hotmail account.. I also am unable to adjust the notification LED... It is greyed out so I can't change the setting.. It just keeps blinking until I either read the mail or delete it... Anyone have any ideas on a fix? |

Re: Verizon Touch Pro2 MR2 Update includes Sense 2.5
Anyone know if there's a way to get one of the stock wallpapers on every tab instead of just the home tab? Thanks.

Cookie's Home Tab will also do this.

Until then, I have moved to SPB Mobile Shell 3.5. Don't like the non-gps location aware weather but its livable. Till memory leaks is solved with sense 2.5 I am sticking with spb ms3.5. also, I tried the disable auto lock after noticing the 8mb usage.....didn't really solve much. it kept the 8mb free (acatully about 7 or so) but still has the memory leak which results in having to restart every 6hrs just to use the phone in a normal manor (I have 3 email accounts one of which is work with exchange push email; get about 75 emails a day.) I also have to clear out SMS each morning to keep the sms working smooth....too many txt for sense to comb over makes it really sluggish (its been well documented already). Till then adios Sense 2.5. Maybe a 2.6 port will come along and help the memory leak. |

Now, one other question -- how do I disable auto-rotation? When I go to use the phone laying down it always rotates sideways, I want it to stay "upright" unless I flip out the keyboard. The MR2 ROM doesn't have a choice for rotation on/off like MR1 had. |

Ok, so the programmer in me couldn't sleep until I reverse-engineered the cab xml setup file, fully understood how auto rotation works, what regkeys are involved, and resolved my problems. I know I'll regret this in a few hours when my alarm goes off... I think I got it! And I wrote a MortScript script to toggle the defaults vs no rotation, I've attached it. It doesn't seem to require a soft-reset, but I like to anyways for good measure. P.S. I know I could have just deleted the Opera G-Sensor RegKey (as that cab appears to do) and changed the value of the system-wide rotation, but my OCD requires that I reset everything even though it's totally pointless. P.P.S. I'm starting to understand and hate XML. |
