Just got a brand new Touch Pro 2 (TP2) from US Cellular Direct Fulfillment and noticed NEW RADIO VERSION.
I compared my stats and here's what I've got.

So, is there anyway to extract this for everyone else? Notice any improvements over your last phone?

The reason I posted this info was to make people aware. There seems to be no noticeable difference in performance, other than improved battery life.
I am not aware of a way to extract the radio, however would love to attempt it so that it could be made available to others.
Any Suggestions??

Primary reason for the update was for their Evdo markets that just went hot.

He has US Cellular USC_2.18WV already, but not sure about the .02 like you found. He can extract Radio code and make an .exe so folks can update radio w/o losing data.

i posted this in the stock rom thread a while ago. you can get the new stock rom with the new radio and PRI from US Cellulars website. (link to PCD) http://www.pcdphones.com/device-downloads/40-3g-mr, also enables 3g roaming. no more 2g outside of the USCC calling area. I thought USCC sent a letter about this out.

I hope this is true. I drive a truck and get tired of not getting 3g when I know I'm in a 3g area. If they sent a letter, it never arrived here. I flashed and will find out if it works tomorrow when I head out on the road again.

So I wonder, if I flash this stock rom with the new radio and then flash a custom rom, will the radio still be the new one??? Might have to try...

custom roms dont change the radio or pri or prl

I flashed the stock rom for the radio and reflashed a Mr. X ROM. You will keep the new radio. The new radio does gived you more 3G coverage. It used to only be 1X once I left OK on my way to CA. With the new radio I have had 3G all across I-40 in NM, AZ, and so far in CA. The TX panhandle was the only place I went back to 1X.
