Stupid guy with smart phone (Advice needed)

Well guys/girls let me first say this : No I don't own a civic, I did a long time ago and I like to keep the same board name because I am not the brightest of the bunch and I will forget.

Second: I got a Htc touch 2 when my samsung delve died for the third time (One time it would not answer calls, one time it got too cold (Working in 40* weather lol), and the last time it turned itself off all the time for some reason. So my carrier US CELLULAR upgraded me for 100$ Plus I got a 50$ or some crap mail in rebate.

With that being said, it is my first smart phone, I love it. I have no issues out of it except at times it can be a hair slow. Are there any rec. programs just to boost it up a little bit? I have cleanram that I use that helped out a good bit.

Thanks and I apologize in advance for this generic thread that I am sure has been posted millions of times.

My advice as a fellow noob is to READ READ READ....then when your done reading.....READ some more.....a great place to start is at the beginning....then it's pretty much pick and choose from that point on. Try something....test it...and see if you like it. Everyone has his/her own opinion as to what they like.....and I am sure you will find something to your liking here. There are plenty of ROMS and lot's of good people here to help you along the way. Just remember. If there is a question you have.....search for it....because it has probably been asked already before. Have fun.

The post above me Is very good. I think sktools is all you really need. the best answer though is to take a leap and flash a new Rom.
You have to decide what programs you don't want. Most custom Roms out there are just as slow as the stock one. My advice would be to use a lite Rom like ski Rom. He does a great job. Flashing is easy and all your questions will be answered in the upgrade section. Just make sure you have a cdma (no sim) tp2. If you do have a sim, go to XDA.

Good luck and dont be afraid!

also just a reminder...the amount of text messages/emails you have stored on your device can also slow down your device. so as much as possible, keep the messages on your phone on a minimal level.
