Any way to edit the autocomplete dictionary?

Hey all,

Does anyone know how to edit the autocomplete entries? When I had my XV6700 there was an application that let you get rid of misspellings, etc. that would get saved. I think I was never able to find one that worked with the Mogul. Is there one for the TP2?

Searched for "edit autocomplete" and "edit dictionary" but couldn't find anything. Thanks for any help.

Thanks for the cab, John - but which tab do you use in this program?

When I open DictMgr and try to launch DictEditor, it tells me only WM5 and below are supported. T9Editor gives me the message that HTC Phone Pad is not installed on my device. WordCorrector works, but doesn't seem to list the words I want to remove.

Well, maybe it won't work for you then. Sorry about that.

I use TouchPal 3.5 & it works fine for that, but I thought I had used it for the HTC KB also.

No problem! It was definitely worth a shot. From what I've been able to find out, nobody has made a working WM6 editor yet, which is pretty surprising since it's an app that I'm sure many people would want. Apparently WM6 uses a different format for the dictionary file that's much harder to "crack" than the one used in WM5. Pretty boneheaded for them not to have editing ability built-in to the OS.

Re: Any way to edit the autocomplete dictionary?

Thanks for the link - but that program actually already exists on the TP2, it's under the Windows folder. I had found a few places that recommended running that. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to point to the same dictionary file as the autocomplete words. If you run it, it just says "No Entries".

I ended up just disabling autocomplete altogether - with the slide-out kb it's not that much effort to type the whole words.
