How do you stop automatic screen rotation?
 

Is it possible to stop the screen from automatically rotating itself?
Sometimes it is a PITA when the screen rotates upon even a slight movement of the handset.
I would like the screen to stay portrait unless I pull out the keyboard.
Any regstry edit that will pull this off?

here is the edit to rotate manilla, I would assume that you could change the settings for the other reg keys in the same folder to disable rotation for other programs :)

- Make Sense 2.5 auto rotate -
1. Go to: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\HTC\HTCSENSOR\GSensor\M oduleName
2. Create A New String
3. Set "Value Name" = "Manila"
4. Set"Value Data" = "\Windows\Manila.exe"
5. Go to: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\HTC\HTCSENSOR\GSensor\W hiteList
6. Create A New String
7. Set "Value Name" = "Manila"
8. Set "Value Data" = "Manila"
9. Softreset

make this regedit
HKCU\Software\HTC\HTCSensor\Gsensor
AutoRotation = 0

:shock: WOW :confused2: That seemed like a lot to do. Personally maybe just beyond some folks skill level. But I thanked you because it was highly detailed, and worth the thanks for the time you took to put this together. :thumbleft:

It has worked for other apps, but Opera still auto-rotates upon tilting.
Any idea how to stop Opera from doing it?

yea...opera has to be done seperately.
All you have to do is delete this entry in your registry
HKLM\Software\Opera\GSensor

or

install the cab attached. it does the regedit for you. thanks to imnuts for the cab
