TP2 Memory loss?
New to the forums.
Um okay. I had a lot of space left on my phone, then when I tried sending a song to my friend, it didn't work, and all of a sudden, my phone keeps saying my phone memory is critically low. I don't know how to fix this. Can anyone help me? I can't receive any texts or anything anymore. I really need to fix this! D: |

What version OS are you running on your phone? is it stock or upgraded or a custom ROM? Do you have a task manager installed and have it set to close programs when you hit the X Button? Just some questions to help better. |

Windows Mobile 6.1. I have a custom tab bar thingy installed if that counts.. Yeah, I have Task Manager and everything is always closed. |
Re: TP2 Memory loss?
How are you trying to send the file to your friend?
One other thing, its pretty common if you have a ton of e-mails and text's stored on your phone that it can cause a lot of problems with lag and freezing. How many text's and e-mails do you have stored on your phone? |

It's not really freezing and lagging I'm worried about. It's saying that I have no memory left when I actually have a ton left on my phone. =/ I was gonna send through MMS. I was trying to send a song, but it lagged and I tried again, then it popped up and said I couldn't send it, so I didn't try again, and ever since then my phone's been saying the critically low memory thing. |
Re: TP2 Memory loss?
i just got a tp2 and coming from a q9c the memory leaks in this phone are terrible. id say unacceptable if i could have a better phone on my legacy sero plan i would. i have a ram cleaner installed that runs automatically every 3 hours and a reboot it once a day.
i run mighty rom which is much better than the stock rom, as it starts with about 10% more ram available. but sitll IMO unacceptable. |

I am not sure if 6.1 has this but look in setting/system/uploader and make sure its not there too. |

Anyways, to the OP, glad you got your mem problems solved. BTW, don't try to send full MP3's through that. Use email instead. There is a limit of 1.2MB per message just so you know. That may be why it was getting hung up. Although it should have gave you a notice that the file was too big. |
Wirelessly posted (Sprint TP2 6.5 stock: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows CE; IEMobile 8.12; MSIEMobile6.0) Sprint T7380)
i wonder y i never get that warning ... my phone likes to just automatically close programs though |
Re: TP2 Memory loss?
wow, comparing a q9c to a tp2??? really???
my q9c never had 110mb free memory on boot. |
Re: TP2 Memory loss?
the memory leak is terrible, damn microsoft, ya shouldn't have to REBOOT a phone.
i should have gotten the verizon Motorola Devour it has Qualcomm MSM7627 processor with dedicated HW Acceleration. that thing was smokin fast!! |
Re: TP2 Memory loss?
yes at least my q9c could go weeks without rebooting.
it was a great phone for email/text web browsing was always painfull. i guess i just expected more out of such a newer winmobile device. |

Just my 2 cents. |
Re: TP2 Memory loss?
well thats nice and all but im comparing it to a 6.1 windows mobile standard device. not a clam shell.
as i have never owned one... do android phones have these issues? how about the iphone? im not trying to be sarcastic, im asking a question. comparing the phone to a computer is a mistake. look at the uptime on linux servers/desktops. even my windows 7 box is rebooted maybe once a week. if we are comparing the touch pro2 to something computer equivalent id say its like windows ME. the tp2 is an awesome device as far as hardware goes. windows mobile is the weak link. |

Rant On.......... Its all in personal User experience, we all use are phone's in different ways and install different things, I personally love Sense, Yea its got its issues but nothing so over whelming that it makes it unusable for me. it really just boils down to whether or not you can learn to live with it or not. Speed is relative to what you believe is fast and not. if its not fast enough for you maybe its not the right device for you. Most of the people that visit these kinds of site's are more than your average user and want to take things to Max and completely personalize there hardware to there tastes and it just takes time and patients. Sometimes it works and sometimes it just doesn't. take it all in stride and learn to adapt otherwise you will always feel its never enough. Rant off........ |
