Its "fake" because the seller has it listed as an OEM battery when it is not. Its a counterfeit battery. The label on it makes it look like a genuine HTC battery, yet according to tests done by the site the OP linked, it has been proven to be not genuine and therefore fake. But its still a working usable battery. Whoever made the battery intended on it being used on the TP2, but that manufacturer just wasn't HTC as is claimed.

So it will work, but you just don't get an authentic HTC battery with whatever warranties and quality that would come with one.

Well put, jdpman.

As for the shipping, it's free and pretty fast. Got my battery in 1 week.

I also ordered a cheap battery from Hong Kong approx 2 weeks ago. It arrived just a couple days ago. So far I've been very happy with the performance. By the time I put my phone on the charger last night I still had ~35% battery life left in it. It was a typical day of use so I'm usually down to the low battery warning. (Energy Rom 6.5.5 BTW)

The battery I picked up was an Andida and is supposedly 2000mahs (vs. the standard 1500). From what I've read gauging the mahs a battery holds is tough an will vary based on the device and method used to measure it. So take the rating with a grain of salt basically.

Here's the ebay user who punts these things. It looks like there aren't any listed today.

For the best battery rating that that I've seen check out this thread over at XDA. This guy has done some serious leg work.

As a general rule to myself I don't buy anything that has a "i" in front of it. I also have a general rule to not go to any asian restaurant with "Happy" or "Bowl" in it's name so I could be missing out on some good food...

bought the same battery last fall when I got my TP2 because on this phone an extended battery cover was out of the question (the moto q9c, it just seemed natural and gave you a better grip on the phone). I can't tell the difference between OEM and the andida one. Both last pretty well.

Anyone have an idea how long a fully charged battery would:

-stay full charged in the glove compartment of my car?
-how long would it take it to get to 50%?
-would extreme southern California heat speed up or slow down the draining process?

I know cold drains batteries, hadn't heard about heat unless it gets hot enough to damage the battery. I don't think even in the sun, it would get that hot in the car.
