TP2 - Disable Power Saving while busy...

Okay,

I believe my biggest issue now with the TP2 (perhaps WM6.5) is the power saving. What happens, is that I'm doing some clean up, adjusting the registry, copying or deleting files. Deleting emails, since I finally began setting my email to only download the last 5 days instead of all messages, but I wanted to clean out the inboxes of my 6 accounts, after changing the email settings, since it doesn't help to only download the last 5 days, when 2000 emails are already in the inbox.

but then the power saving kicks in, and the phone is completely unresponsive until the operation completes, which sort of sucks.

So i was wondering if there is a setting that can disable the power save, (so the phone doesn't turn off) until the current operation is complete. Basically, if I have the "thinking" cursor, (the rotating 4 dots), i don't want it to go into the power mode, because it sometimes never comes out of it, and I have to reset to rewake up the phone.

thanks
Jaeden "Sifo Dyas" al'Raec Ruiner

If you go to settings/System/power/back light and Uncheck turn off device if not used.

hrm...
that sounds like it would completely disable the power saving mode entirely. If i'm not using the phone I want it to go to power mode, I just want more specific control on what "Using the phone" is. I gather then there is no specification to that detail. Usually, use equates to me touching the screen, typing, etc. I want it to also include a "busy" state check for when an application is actively processing something, those moments when touching the screen does nothing but brighten the backlight again. *shrug*

thanks though,

Well you can't have your cake and eat it too, you asked how to disable power saver and thats how you do it, simply if your not using the phone hit the power button and it will turn the screen off.

you can try screen alive, a cab that will keep your screen on when you want it to. you have to run it and close it personally. alot of people use it when watching videos.
what you want would be pretty hard to do since there seems to always be processes running in the background.
