Re: sprint touch pro 2 on boost
you cant buy a device flashed to boost.. boost doesnt require flashing.. just simple reprogramming of the esn, meid and such...
you have to have a cdma boost device already active on boost.. then take your clever hacking skills and make your sprint tp2 "seem" like its the cdma boost phone.. thats how it works... if you dont have a cdma phone on boost already, that your going to switch with, your dead in the water im pretty sure |
Re: sprint touch pro 2 on boost
i mean i bought it already "done" reprogrammed it just stopped working any suggestions?
|
Re: sprint touch pro 2 on boost
itll still have the boost progrmming in it.. but wont connect to anything...
...you cannot put a sprint tp2 or any non boost phone on boost, with out cloning the id of the cdma boost device thats already on there.... plain and simple.... doesnt matter if its preprogrammed, you hhave to have a boost account already with another device... but look, what your asking requires cloning since boost removed their self service tool for esn swaps... we cant talk about cloning, so im gonna drop that part of the convo now... you either got scammed by someone who knew what they were doing, or you didnt realize you cant use it without an existing boost device already active.. hope that clears it up |

In order to flash a rom onto your TP2 you need it to be a TP2 rom. there is no way to flash an android rom to your phone you can dual boot your phone (running android from your storage card) I suggest you read through the TP2 android development thread. if you do flash a TP2 rom to your TP2 make sure it works for your sprint service some of them are service specific or GSM, CDMA specific ... Somebody got some reading to do. |
Re: sprint touch pro 2 on boost

Re: sprint touch pro 2 on boost
I guess I didn't see the answer to "Can a HTC Touch Pro 2 from Sprint be activated with Boost?" I saw a yes and a no answer above. If someone has done this, please provide step by step of how you did it. Thanks.

Re: sprint touch pro 2 on boost
I have a TP2 on boost. I have mostly everything working except that I cannot receive mms messages. I install a cab and now I can send them but not receive any. Any suggestions.

Re: sprint touch pro 2 on boost
Not sure, but you could just use google voice if your internet works fine on boost.

Here's what got it going for me (the hard way) - http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread...86#post1927586 ----------------------- So, bottom line, can someone who knows for sure tell us if you need to do something shady to get TP2 on boost or not? One guy says it involves cloning, but I've also read accounts where people just keep calling up until they get a customer service rep who will blindly accept the MEID of the phone without asking too many questions. (basically saying "I have a replacement phone" they say "what type" you say "I dunno but I have this meid number, want it?" ... they're supposed to be stubborn about the type of phone but you can maybe talk them past that). Oh, and if it doesn't violate rules, can they point to the guide or post that helped them get it working? |
Re: sprint touch pro 2 on boost
OK lets clear some things up.
To get the Sprint TP2 on boost mobile you DO NOT NEED TO CLONE THE ESN. as a certain person here stated which has no idea what he's talking about. All you have to do is get lucky & get a boost CS rep to activate it without too many questions. just have an existing boost cdma account call the CS and state that your replacing the phone on your account because the old one broke you dont know exact details on the new one just thats a boost phone and that its red or whatever color u want. This is not illegal. You do not need to flash anything on your TP2 to make it work on boost mobile. There isnt a boost mobile flash. nor a boost mobile Rom. To get the internet, sms, phone to work you have to install the latest sprint prl update if your on a custom rom. To get the MMS to work you have to install the correct mms .cab for it If anyone wants a detail step by step guide on how to do this or just the guide for the mms cab just requested and ill will do it. *If i helped feel free to hit the thanks button* |
Re: sprint touch pro 2 on boost
you DEFINITELY should write a guide. this is a popular question on here and people are getting suckered by these ebay boost rom scams and paying for dinky guides that probably have no more info than... well, what you already just told us for free.

Re: sprint touch pro 2 on boost
If you do successfully get the sprint TP2 working, can you tether with it? I'm thinking about making the move. Also, is the coverage with boost decent?
|
Re: sprint touch pro 2 on boost
Yes you can tether with it i do it everytime i need it and it works fine. The coverage with boost is practically the same since boost cdma works off of sprints cdma network.
Oh yeah im gonna do the step by step guide as soon as i get enough time and request for it. |

Re: sprint touch pro 2 on boost
Hi all,
I'm new to the forum, but have searched and read quite a bit. I've been trying to activate my Sprint TP2 (purchased new with clean ESN on ebay) with Boost for many months. I have an account and have gotten very close recently with a CS rep who was willing to try to activate it. He got though the initial entry, but said when he got to the plan selection page there were no choices and he could not proceed. Any thoughts on what I could have told him to get through the next step of the activation process? Thanks in advance for any help. |

This last attempt it did seemed to go through. However, no plan (such as $50 unlimited, which I have) came up that he could chose from to continue the process.... |
Re: sprint touch pro 2 on boost
Just keep trying many of us have been able to do it but i guess weve gotten lucky.
Why is the plan even a question all your doing is transferring phones on your account. It should just stay on your account with the same plan. all their suppose to know is that you have a boost phone. So its not like your upgrading to a boost phone that requires a special plan. |
Re: sprint touch pro 2 on boost
yes. make it clear you are just changing equipment on the same account.

I currently have a sprint tp2 on my Boost mobile account working fully, here are the steps to get this done, First buy a boost mobile CDMA phone, its the ones with out walkie talkie, activate your new phone and then buy your touch pro 2, Call in and tell them your phone broke and you want to use a new one, they will ask you for the new esn number which is in the back under the battery, if they ask you what kind of phone it is you can either lie about it and say its a samsung rant or some other boost cdma phone, in my case i told them it was a sprint touch pro 2 and i was only using it until i could replace my broken boost phone, and they let me go with it, after you get the phone activated on boost mobile side of things, turn your phone on and it will usually program itself, after that to get mms working simply download the arcsoft cab at the bottom of this post, after that soft reset the device and then when ti reboots click on start and then text, at the bottom hit menu then Pics/ Video Options then at the bottom click on CDMA Servers, Then in the middle of the screen hit new, Where it says server name put in whatever you want it to be called, leave the gateway blank, put the port number to 80 amd put the server address to http://mm.myboostmobile.com Where it says connect via make sure it is set to sprint and then set your send limit to 300k after that hit done, now you should see your new connection on the CDMA servers tab, select the new connection and then hit set as default and that should enable your mms to work both ways!! Then do a soft reset and try using your new sprint tp2 on Boost. Just for refrence here is my story, i had a boost iden phone which is the walkie talkie phone, had it for a few months then got a cdma phone, had it for a few weeks bought my sprint tp2 brand new, from someone i knew, it was jsut a regular tp2 no hacks, no flashed anything just a completely stock phone, called up boost activated it, turned my phone on it programed its self then set up my mms and i was good to go!! My phone gets great service and im out in the country, I can tether with it and even have an app to make it a wifi hotspot. If you got any questions let me know and ill help best i can!! Heres your guide so follow it :)
