TP2 WM6.5 Bugs: Stuck in Sleep Mode & Graphics Don't Render & IMAP Redundant Folders
 

After using Sprint WM 6.5 for a few weeks...the following bugs/issues are apparent...


Current System:

• Fresh Sprint/HTC 6.5 Install
• 'GoodThings2Life' Cleanup .cab (for 6.5)
• Google Maps .cab

(no additional apps; everything else is stock)




PROBLEM 1: Phone gets stuck in sleep mode and won't wake upon button press; takes many button presses and waiting but usually wakes...eventually...


PROBLEM 2: HTC Sense Interface - Ribbon menu buttons don't render properly; Messages appear blank or message graphics fail to render; same for both email and text messages; messaging functionality fails; soft reset returns functionality (until the next occurrence).


PROBLEM 3: IMAP - Redundant Folders; Especially bothersome is that WM6.5 seems to have setup its own "Sent" folder that does not match the "Sent" folder on the IMAP Server. Seems to be no way to fix this and it prevents proper syncing of sent messages. End up with this...

Outbox
Sent Items

* The Inbox and the folders under it are the IMAP folders (the ones that need to sync)

How many e-mails are being sync'ed (not account but actual e-mails) this seems to be one of the problems that is causing the SOD issues. there are a TON of threads already on this subject.

go online and into your email account.. are you using yahoo, gmail?? you need to go in and manage your folders online... delete whats not needed and place all the folders you do want to use in the correct place... pretty self explanitory on gmail if your online

i'm syncing emails for the past 30 days.. maybe a couple hundred...nothing crazy...

My email account is a hosted IMAP account on a webserver that I believe is running linux (it's located at a major hosting provider). I do not use gmail or yahoo.

I would try and keep your inbox as light as possible, same with Text messages, did not ask that but once you get a few hundred of those both it can lead to problems, I would recommend just syncing the last 2 week and if you have a ton of text's clean them out or archive them.

Problem 1 there is no real solution for, its completely random it seems to who it happens to and there is no real fix for it. it just happens or it doesn't.

Problem 2 have you tried a hard reset to see if that clears up the issue? sounds like a possible bad flash.

Problem 3 just sounds like you need to do some cleanup in your e-mail.
