my TP2 wont use wifi even when connected
 
i am connected to my wifi. but im still browsing the internet via the cell network.

what do i do other than turning the phone off to get it to browse the internet via wifi?

running energy rom btw.

in fact when i turned off the phone i still could not connect to the internet. and when i turned the phone back on i could not connect to the internet untill i turned off the wifi.

These kinds of things are impossible to troubleshoot without a lot more detail. Are you actually connected to a WiFi network? Can you verify that the network does have internet access (using a different device)? Is your phone set to use a static IP, or is DHCP enabled?

dono how to set dhcp or static ip on phone.

i can tether a pc with my tp2 using the wifi and the pc can get online. my phone just wont browse the internet using the wifi.

What program are you using to tether? Some aren't good about cleaning up after themselves and leave the phone set to a static IP - typically 192.168.1.1 which conflicts with your router which is probably trying to use the same address.

Depends somewhat on what version of WM you're running, but in general:

Start --> Settings --> Connections --> Wifi --> Wireless Networks --> Network Adpaters tab

Click on your wifi adapter (802.11...) and select the radio button for "Use server-assigned IP address"

I second that... I noticed too that when I took my TP2 out of the box and connected to the WIFI network in my house. It says Connected but it is not using the network... I recently had just got an replacement TP2 and before I activated yesterday, It showed connected to my network but did not work... All of this started after the 6.5 rom... Anyway around this?
