Real Time GPS Tracking
 

Has anyone had any success with real time GPS tracking and Google Map/Latitude or another free tracking solution? I'm looking to run a GPS tracking app in the background so my family can locate me the next time I crash while riding. :-)

now the app isnt meant for this.. but hands-down this is the slickest way for tracking... youd just install this on your own device, give out the codes you only want used... then if they cant reach you on a ride, all they have to do is send a text command and theyll get your gps location thats able to be opened in google maps..

i used to use this as my anti theft software.. the app can do some evil stuff if used in vain so it kinda got a bad rep.. check it out yourself, but Phone Creeper will do what you want..

lookout mobile security has a phone locator tool as well. anyone can access it online, just need email and password. (careful though, it can also nuke your phone from there as well).

Whats wrong with just using Google Lattitude? If you have Google Maps open it refreshes pretty frequently. If you close it, it refreshes in the background not sure how often though.

Unless they fixed it in the last month, Google Maps *does not* refresh in the background on the TP2. Known issue with Windows Mobile.

(If you close Google Maps on your TP2, latitude will continue to show the last position it identified until Google Maps is active again.)

1 plus for remote tracker it is great. Many many features and it is free.
