Save to Existing Contact

I'm running Sprint Basics Rom 1.2. This has WM 6.1 which I prefer and I have HTC Sense Disabled. However, Prior to Sense, when someone sent you and email or phone number and you wanted to save it to an existing contact, it gave you that option, "save to existing contact" you could find that person and add the information. It seems with Sense, you can only add that information to a new contact, however, if you already have that contact in your phone and say for example they text you their email and you want to add it, it doesntt let you. It creates a new contact.

Is there anyway to disable that Sense interface and have it back to the traditional touch flo like on the Touch Pro. Please advise. Thanks.

I'm using Sprint WinMo 6.5 and this is how I add an incoming call number to an existing contact:

1. Press the call button and the dial pad screen will show up.
2. Tap the "Menu" located at the lower right hand corner of the screen.
3. On the pop-up menu bar, tap the "Call History".
4. Locate the phone number that you want to add and tap the "contact" icon (not the phone icon).
5. It'll bring you to another screen with the phone appear on the top.
6. Tap the "menu" at the lower right hand corner.
7. On the pop-up menu select "Add to people"
8. Another pop-up menu will show up on the screen.
9. Select " Add to existing contact".

When i got to the last step, the only option that was on there was "save to contacts" and it's a new contact card. No option of "save to people". The instructions for adding from call history worked, but not from a hyperlink in an email or sms. Strange.

You can "export" your existing conatcts to SIM card:

1. Press the call button and the dial pad screen will show up.
2. Tap the "All people" located at the lower left hand corner of the screen.
3. On the "All" screen, tap the "Menu" located at the lower right hand corner of the screen.
4. On the pop-up menu, select "SIM Manager".
5. On the "SIM Manager" screen, tap the "Menu" located at the lower right hand corner of the screen.
6. On the pop-up menu, select "Contacts to SIM ..."
7. It'll list all your contacts on the SIM Manager screen, just check the names of contacts that you would like to save to SIM card. Or you may tap the "Menu" located at the lower right hand corner of the screen.
8. A pop-menu will allow you to choose the following 3 options:

"Check All", "Uncheck All", or "Cancel".
9. Once you're done with selecting contacts that you would like to save to SIM, tap the "Done" located at the lower left hand corner of the screen.

Re: Save to Existing Contact

I know you can save contact to SIM, but what I would like to do is to save the contact directly to SIM while adding contact, this would save tones of trouble going through steps you just mentioned...:notworthy:
