How to enable "SMS Delivery Notification"??

Just got a new TP2 replacement for the TP1 I dropped, it came pre-loaded w/6.5, and im still running on the stock Sprint ROM w/no other apps, etc.

Ive read other posts, but maybe im just retarded or missing something.. I installed advanced configuration tool 3.3 > enabled "sms delivery notification" under messaging > soft reset > send text to gf > get reply from gf... wtf no delivery notification!!

Anyone know why? Do I have to disable threaded layout or something? Or do they go somewhere other than the standard sms inbox?

Thanks!

u really want the notification that the message was sent? when mine rejects, it says message can not be sent, send again?

but then again i text so much having a notification pop up every 20 seconds gets very annoying.

neways, check your options in your text window... messaging>options>message...might be an option there for you. also, did you soft reset after you changed your settings?

Thanks for the reply. I dont use it all the time, but I do find it very useful on occasion.. and yes, i did soft reset, and the only option i have is 'callback number' same as before.. so still no luck.

Re: How to enable "SMS Delivery Notification"??

I think it was disabled in 6.5. I don't think there is an option to enable on 6.5 rom even with advanced tool config. There may be some sort of registry edit to enable it.

But rest assured, the msg sent notification doesn't guarantee the network sent or delivered the msg. there really is no need for it.

U R the 1st I've ever seen in all my years that actuallty wants the notification lol. all other avid Win Mo users can't stand it and always find hacs/edits to remove it.

I do NOT want 'message sent notification'.. i hate that too lol

I want 'message delivery notification'.. and there is a setting for it under messaging in advanced tool.

i too just got a new tp2 with wm 6.5 and the prev tp2 had wm 6.1 and i'm looking to enable the same thing. yeah i know it means nothing but its just something i'm used to. so if anyone can walk me through having the message sent bubble (and possibly even that notification sound also) i'd very much so appreciate it :-)

Re: How to enable "SMS Delivery Notification"??

we are NOT talking about "sms sent notification" but "sms delivery notification" here.. which will send you a txt once the msg has been received on the recipient's phone.

For example, assume you had both the sent/delivery notifications enabled and you txt a friend, but his phone is off for say like 24hrs.. you'd get a 'sent' notification as soon as you send it, and a 'delivery' notification the next day once he/she turned their phone back on.

and to answer your question, you can easily enable the 'sent notification' you are looking for in advanced configuration tool.. but although i have it enabled in advanced config, the 'delivery notification' is still not working for me. ](*,)

Re: How to enable "SMS Delivery Notification"??

ahh and to enable the sound when sending txt see here http://pdaphonehome.com/forums/htc-t...ext-sound.html. after you make that change to the registry you can change the sound to any of the sounds you can select for the New Text menu. You don't have to name it system notification I named mine SMS Sent and it will show up that way in the setting>notifications drop down menu so that you can change the sound.
