Mighty ROM Data & Pic Messaging
I know there have been discussions about this on the site, but i can't find them at the moment. So in short, i have a Mighty ROM and it has a problem sending and recieving picture messages and randomly won't load web pages because it can't connect to server or something. Sometimes it pops up with a screen that asks for the name, password, and domain for my connection and the name is vzw. Is there some .cab or configuration i should be doing? please help, it's very annoying =(

Re: Mighty ROM Data & Pic Messaging
ok, but will this erase all my stuff on it?
|
Re: Mighty ROM Data & Pic Messaging
No. It won't erase anything.
|
Re: Mighty ROM Data & Pic Messaging
so it'll just do like the base system install and leave everything else?
|
Re: Mighty ROM Data & Pic Messaging
Which imnut's arcsoft version are you using? I've been using this one with no issues...
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/attachment...5&d=1269344705 Also, It's one of the first .cab's I install, then soft reset right after. And I only provisioned at first start up, not sure how provisioning afterwards will affect anything. |
Re: Mighty ROM Data & Pic Messaging
mine is this one: imnuts Verizon ArcSoft MMS 5.2.12.45 20100204.cab, i tried the one you gave me, and it didn't work either =(

Re: Mighty ROM Data & Pic Messaging
Did you remove the one you had, soft reset, install the new one, soft reset? Also, are you trying to send receive on VZW data, or wifi (you cannot send/receive MMS on wifi)?
Just trying to walk through all of the bases. |
Re: Mighty ROM Data & Pic Messaging
yup, it uninstalled the older one before installing the new one, and im trying to send over vzw data (i guess, since it's not wifi). it keeps saying "message delivery failed."
I tried some tips for this thread too:http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=93778 none of it seems to be working and i soft reset after each install |
Re: Mighty ROM Data & Pic Messaging
Did you make some reg edit changes from the thread listed, or only install the arcsoft cab?
I'm on VZW, and all I do is (basic flash dance, but now task29) install MightyROM (or custom rom of choice), make sure I can send/receive calls (*228 is usually needed to program the phone), install imnut's arcsoft cab (soft reset). Verify that send/receive MMS works. Not sure how many updates, cabs or personalization you do, but if I had issues, I would hard reset, flash stock, run task29, re-install MightyROM (maybe even redownload jic) and then set up MMS again. Not really sure why it doesn't work for you. |
Re: Mighty ROM Data & Pic Messaging
i just installed the .cab, no regedits. god this is infuriating!

Re: Mighty ROM Data & Pic Messaging
Don't get too frustrated....MMS is working for a lot of us VZW folks on MightyROM, as well as other custom rom's.
If it is not too much trouble to re-flash, here is exactly what I do (when flashing) and MMS works with no issues (and roms run flawless)... Hard reset (clear storage) > flash stock vzw 6.5 (program phone, make sure phone sends/receives > run task29 ( http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=116571 ) post #9 .exe from ziggy > soon as task29 is done put into boot loader mode (vol down + end key + reset button) > start flashing MightyROM (soon as it gets past 1% I take out the battery) > right after 100% when you hear usb is disconnected, unplug from computer > wait a few seconds, put the battery back in and hold vol down + send + end to hard reset > provision verison > program phone with *228 and make sure phone sends/receives calls > install imnut's cab > soft reset > verify it works. I know it's probably waaaay over kill, but I don't have any issues with this method. EDIT: If it's never worked on MightyROM for you, or if you're having several issues, you may also consider re-downloading the rom. Edit #2: After flashing stock and custom rom, I program the phone with *228 to make sure the phone works (added above) |
Re: Mighty ROM Data & Pic Messaging
