Slow Contacts while typing
 

Background: I've tried different roms, thinking that was the problem, but its prevalent in multiple roms.

Problem: When typing the name of someone in the "TO:" part of the text, it lags and wont show up the name unless I fully type out the name, then backspace and wait.

Example: To send to JAMES, I would have to type JAMES, then backspace to JAME, then Jame's contact will show up.

Any fixes?

wth, what rom? any tweaks to dialer by you?

When I recently installed swype I had a similar error, i'm not sure if you've done that. My friend also experienced the same when I installed the NRG rom on his phone, but I did a hard reset and it fixed his issue.

I had the same problem using swype/slideit on the stock 6.5 sprint ROM. It seems like the HTC contact finder only really plays nicely with the stock keyboard. Set it back and the problem will go away.

Like others have said, Swype will do this to your phone. I still have it installed, just type out the name long enough, delete the last letter, and there's all your contact listings for the letters you entered.

If you don't have swype installed on your phone, then I'm unsure as to what the problem would be.
