So I'm checking the charge to my phone from usb, and it says approx. 440mA. The wall says 880mA, and now my new official (not ebay knockoff) HTC car charger charges at 880mA instead of 2A. Is this right? How do I get a true approx. 2A charge from the car charger?

Re: Charging current accuracy

800-900mA is the highest charge rate you'll get. the 400-500mA charge rate will be from a computer as it doesn't pull as much to prevent damage to your computer by drawing to much current. nueBattery allows you to enable the full charge rate over USB when connected to your computer though if you wanted to have a faster charge there.

So then what's the point of getting an official HTC car charger that says 2A output? Is there any way to allow a full charge close to 2A without blowing up the phone?
