Data randomly not working
 
I'm running timberwolf rom. About 3am last night my data stopped working. Called Sprint today to re-provision and they told me I will need to hard reset. My question to you guys, is there a way to avoid resetting? If it helps, I am getting a 1012 error code.

My thought was if I have to reset my phone, I might have to flash back to stock.. If this is the route I have to take, I was wondering if I could do a full back up, restore to stock and provision it, then restore to the rom I'm using and load the back up. (Will that load the issue back with it?)

To reprovision you may try the following steps. I'm not sure if it'll help in your situation but it's no harm to try these steps before you perform a hard reset.


1. Settings -> All Settings -> System -> Update Profile

2. Phone -> Dial ##3282# -> Edit

3. It'll ask you to enter an MSL code. You may follwing instructions at following post to find your MSL code:

4. Menu -> Restore -> OK

It'll reboot your device twice.

Sprint had me do that. It reset the settings.. Then it went back to the phone, after boot up the hands free came up, and that's where I'm getting my errors. Now what way I go about it, through the menus, or automatic, or the ##3282#

**EDIT**

If it matters, I downloaded a Roamonlyfix.cab, that was the only other install as of late. (Don't know if that has anything to do with it.)

If it matters, I downloaded a Roamonlyfix.cab, that was the only other install as of late. (Don't know if that has anything to do with it.)

There is a button with a phone icon, press that icon, it'll take you to the phone screen. It is the screen with a dial pad, it is the same screen that you use to dial phone numbers. Hope this helps.

Here is the screenshot of the dialpad that you would enter ##3282# (there is no need to press dial after dialing ##3282#). It'll take you directly to a screen ...

I was saying I did that.. Tried it again actually. It resets, just doesn't apply anything. All my ip addresses are 0.00.0 or something along those lines. If I go through the menus, and try to update prl, or profile, I get a 1012 error.

**Edit**

I'm going to do a hard reset, without flashing back to sprint stock and see if that changes anything.

you could try reflashing just the sprint radio and see if that fixes it. won't touch the ROM.

I never flashed a different radio. Didn't unlock that portion. =\

if you unlocked for custom ROMs then you unlocked for radio. but if you flashed the new sprint 6.5, you got the new radio.

Well I got the new radio. I was thinking about that after I was writing my last reply. I thought you had to pay for the radio unlocker.

WRONG!!
You did not unlock the capabilities to flash radios without the paid unlocker.

That's straight from the "elite" team's website.

You can however flash the stock ROMs, and if they have a newer radio version that will update/install just fine. But to install modified radios or trying to flash just the radio will not work without the paid unlocker.

WRONG!!!
you only have to be hard spl unlocked to flash the different radios in the radio thread. you only have to be security unlocked for the special unlocked radios that were modified by cmonex or olipro for use with the sim unlocker.

O.o So I can flash a radio as long as it's not modified? Also, update on my issue.. After the hard reset it started working again, after profile and prl updates. Funny thing was, my g/f's Hero went down today. haha Think it's Sprint related?

yea, you can flash the radio's in the radio thread here, as long as you're hard spl unlocked.

Woops my bad.
Didn't really use stock radios on my older phones, I always used modified ones. Good to know though. Mines about due for a upgraded radio.
