Sprint Touch Pro 2 PRI 2.20_003
 

This is the PRI from the Sprint 6.5 update. Some people say that it may improve call quality. YMMV. There should be no ill effects from installing this to your device. You can check your pri version by going to settings, system,and selecting device information. If you have 1.42_003, upgrade, if you already have 2.20_003, you don't need to. If you applied the Sprint 6.5 update ROM you should already have it but you can check anyways.(many are saying that the 6.5 update does not infact install this update by default so you may not have it even if you did update.)

How to:
1. Download and install attached cab.
2. Go to your windows folder and find ppst.exe.
3. Open the program and press ok to proceed with update.
4. Once update is completed press ok to restart your device.
5. Once device is restarted check device info to confirm update.

Thanks, I had already tried the official Sprint 6.5 update, but the PRI was never updated for some reason. The CAB worked fine! Thanks!

PS - Pressing OK did not restart the device for me. I waited a minute and restarted manually, and verified that the PRI was updated.

confused. You write that if we have the upgrade we should have the new PRI, but mine reads 1.42.003

so which value should be looking at that shows us the 2.20_003?

Huh? I have the Sprint 6.5 update, but my PRI is also 1.42_003. So where did this come from? If this was from the Sprint update, why isn't it already installed (?)...

Apparently the 6.5 update does not update the pri. just follow the steps in the first post. This cab came straight from the official sprint update.

You're missing important steps here. even if we dial ##778# (which you don't mention how to get to as well) and get into epst we need (or at least you need to tell people) how to get their MSID (MSL code) perhaps get an application such as the following to figure it out:

You're telling folks a lot of technical things where they'll get stuck doing them. I only know this because I've done all this. But for those who don't know, ALL of this is necessary as is the GETSPL application if they don't want to call sprint and have to deal with them.

Thanks for the upgrade information, but you need to include a lot more detail here.

Also, can you say what is included in this PRI update and why it's necessary?

I stand corrected, I tried your method, apparently this works without entering th MSL. Not sure what it does though. Would like more explanation.

thank you for the link and the explnation as to what this does, but doing a google search yields no information as to what a PRI is exactly.

i went to do this, but checked my pri first with ##778#, and it says im already at 2.20.003. wtf?

Thanks for the posting. I checked my device information and Sprint 6.5 upgrade did update my PRI to 2.20.003. I have found that my TP2 connects to 1xRTT frequently. Before the Sprint WinMo 6.5 upgrade, my TP2 is always on EVDO for data connection ... Anyway, this is just my personal experience and I'm not sure if it has anything to do with PRI.

i downed loaded it to my phone.i went to file explorer its there.when i ckeck my pri it still says 1.42_003.and in file explorer when i hit it it says cannot follow this shortcut because it was not created on a pocket pc device.any help

Any way to downgrade down back to 1.43_003? I feel like this update impacted my battery life and so i wanna make sure.

if you flash back to the stock sprint 6.1 rom it should revert back to the older pri.

Seems a bit faster online, will test WMWiFiRouter when I get home, waiting to see what it does to battery life tho, speed has a price...

All this does is update the PRI if you have the older version on the ROM you are running it should work..

P.S. my stock rom updated when I ran the PRi updater installed with the stock rom..

I followed the OP's instructions...when I pressed "ok" to restart....it didn't restart. So I just minorly freaked out, but then just held the power button for two seconds and turned off the device, restarted it, and voila - updated PRI.

Slightly odd side effect - my background (not my wallpaper) is different. I don't remember what it was - but now when I go to Settings>Menu>All Settings, the background behind the icons is different. I do have the CAB that lets you have your wallpaper on all of your tabs - but this is an odd little background change. Probably just a theme change I didn't notice.

(oh, and quick edit - my wallpaper does still show on all of my tabs - this "new" blue gradient background only shows up on the unwallpapered stuff like settings screens and it was on the screen after boot sequence before my wallpaper popped up.)

i tried downgrading to the stock 6.1 rom, and it didnt revert my pri back =( it still says 2.20 or whatever
