can't see phone numbers/names when texting

I'm sorry if this was answered before but I could not find it.

What is happening to me is when I go to forward an text or send a text to more than one person, when I start to type the name, the name used to appear and their phone number would appear so I know I have the right person (say I have more than one "Joe" in my phone book) or that I'm not sending it to their landline or work#.

Now, when I do the same thing, I get nothing but a phone icon, but no name or phone number. The space is now blank, just a white box where that info should be. This has happened since I switched to the Sprint 6.5 ROM. Worked great on my Touch Pro and on the old 6.1 ROM.

Anyone else experiencing this? I think this happens more when I'm using the slide-out keyboard.

it has happened to me(randomly). I find that for example, type "joseph" then backspace the last letter(josep_) and the names magically appear again.

Thanks for responses. I do not have swype, unless it is part of the 6.5 Sprint ROM.

I tried the tip about going back a letter when the name doesn't appear. it didn't seem to work for me, but thanks for the suggestion.

Make sure there are no spaces in front of the name. That's the only time I've ever seen this happen.

I have this very probem with my TP2 as well. To get around with this problem, I move the cursor to the "To" field and press the return key symbol on my onscreen keyboard. It'll take me to the "Contact list" or address book.

Thanks for that response. I guess I will try this going forward. I like the old way of adding contacts to texts. That might be the ONLY thing I miss about my Touch Pro. I would be nice If I could clink on multiple names and they appear in the To: area when I'm done choosing.
