Disable Screen From Turning On
Is there a REG EDIT or hack that would keep the screen off until I press the Power Button? I'm having a problem with my phone powering on when it gains or loses signal. It causes pocket dialing and causes the phone display to turn on many times during the night.

Re: Disable Screen From Turning On
You could try LockDevice, s2u2 or Pocketshield to see if any of those help your situation.
EDIT...this is for TP2 right?? Your info shows Palm Treo. |

I prefer not to use s2u2 because it has been buggy in the past. Yes for a TP2.... I keep a Treo Pro handy for emergencies. |
Re: Disable Screen From Turning On
s2u2 has been pretty good for me...i'm using pocketshield now which is working well. But good old standard lock (wm6.5) works well with LockDevice 1.6.

Wirelessly posted (HTC Touch Pro 2 (Sprint): Opera/9.5 (Microsoft Windows; PPC; Opera Mobi/16643; U; en))
pocket shield is what i recommend .. not knockin the competition but they just dont cut it on my end. |
Re: Disable Screen From Turning On
Yep, pocketshield does the job well, and also has the light sensor lock option so it couldn't pocket dial, or dial while in a case.

in either advanced configuration or diamond tweaks, cant remember which, i think there is a screen wake up setting that can be adjusted. have the cabs if u need em.

Re: Disable Screen From Turning On
I have been looking for something like that since the phone came out.....disable wakeup on signal switch and turn off backlight on a call.
Where do I find them? |

I dont believe there is a registry setting to disable the wakeup on tower switch. Also your TP2's proximity sensor should automatically turn screen off when you put to your head to talk.
This device lock is simple and works great. Automatically locks device when you hit the power button or when device sleeps. |
