i had this problem with 6.1 every now & again but with the new upgrade to 6.5 stock sprint rom its alot more frequent when i open the text using wm standard i get 1 line of visible area to enter text & it only shows first few words & whatever would be on line 2,3,4 & so on dont appear. this is annoying is there a fix of any sort around ?

Thanks was also looking for that.

Will it increase the size of the fonts too for the HTC input box area?

No it won't increase the text size. to do that go to settings/system/screen/text size(located at bottom of screen settings page). or just simply use the zoombar(located below your softkeys) to adjust the size of wm standard text.

Yeah -I've tried the 1st suggestion & it didn't do anything in the HTC SMS Input Box Area.

& the 2nd didn't either unfortunately.
