data connection (noob question)
 

This might sound like a dumb question but what does the data connection (under wireless controls) actually do? I can set it off and I seem to be able to surf the net, send txt messages etc. Why would I ever turn it on?

when you turn it off then surf the net, check to see if the data connection was automatically turned back on...if so there's your answer. it turns it off but when you try to do stuff like surf the net, it automatically turns it back on

what he said. its an automatic connection, so you can turn it off when you know your not going to be using it, or if your having issues with battery drain. There is also a program called "no data" that blocks a data connection, in case your trying to save battery etc.
