Edit SMS Date - TP2 2016 patch didn't work

In short: (HTC's SMS patch didn't work because of stupidity and now I need a way to edit the dates on the 2016 timestamps. There has to be a app.)

I've been searching for a resolution for SMS Date issue. I have installed the patch, but it was done too late. This is what happened.

I had stock Sprint TP2. I made a backup of SMS and contacts. I never knew there was a patch. I installed official 6.5 ROM, and reverted back to 6.1 thinking I would be able to install the patch and fix the SMS dates, but it did nothing. They still all show 2016.

I use SMS as our main form of communication at our little company and I have to have a record of at least 5 months of SMS sent and received.

Is there any program out there where I can edit the date?

I used PIM and also iMobileSMS backup tool. Is there one that can show sms in text format and convert it back to some database format for the phone. So annoying..

if your backing them up, it will keep the date stamp. i would look into microsoft myphone, but you need 6.5 for that.

Why do you need 6.5 for myphone? It works on 6.1.

Wow if you have 5 Months worth of text messages on your phone I know it must run slow as shit.

1st off...when your applying the patch your are supposed to put your phone in Airplane mode....run the patch and soft reset your phone....

2nd...all txt's that you had previous to the patch are still going to show the wrong date stamp (2016)....everything from the point of the patch will show the right date stamp. Make sense?

Other than some files to check for the correct ROM version, the patch contains nothing more than a new rilphone.dll (old one is the cause of the 2016 error) and the .exe I posted above. The exe is supposed to fix all old texts on your phone. It has nothing to do with fixing the cause of the 2016 issue. The only file you need from the patch for that is rilphone.dll.

I will give it a go. Was this exe in the patch released by HTC? I used their patch, but it did not fix any of the messages. If their patch that they released only replaced a dll, where was this one from. I'm just a bit confused as I don't think I will try this if this is the same one that was in their patch, unless I missed something.

BTW: I am using 6.5 again. Will this work on 6.5 or only 6.1? If only 6.1 then I will revert back again tonight and give it a try.

Okay, I have to post here.

I've run, and re-run, and re-re-re-re-re-run the EXE. I've followed the instructions (including resets) to a "T". And I still, still have messages showing "<user> (#/##):", no year. So now, all new text messages are going above that set of messages.

No, I can't delete the messages. They're being used in court proceedings. So ... help? TP2, stock ROM, WinMo 6.5, restored messages (after replacing HTC Mogul with 2016 bug) via Microsoft MyPhone.

Any help is appreciated, and TIA for everyone else's attention to detail and free help. I don't take it for advantage.
