How to turn off keyboard vibration for 6.5 rom
 

Is there a way to disable the keyboard vibration while texting/emailing? Couldn't locate the answer while searching.

It's usually in the system settings under touch options... unless you're on Mr. X's rom like I am, in which case I don't think there is a way to turn that vibration off :/

its just where kabuk1 said. settings> all settings> system> touch options.
uncheck the box, enjoy the lack of haptic feedback!

I found what you're talking about under "personalize", then under "vibration". I have that box unchecked already. Any other suggestions?

ok. is there a noise too, or just vibration? try settings> all settings> sounds and notifications see if screen taps is checked? my gf just got home with her stock pro2 and im not seeing touch options either.

well, just get used to the vibration then. the stock tp2 in my hand does not do that, and i cant find an option.

I am sorry but I cannot even find a "personalize" under settings. I supposed you meant "personal". Under my Sprint's stock ROM, under "personal" are "buttons", "input", keyboard sliding sound, hearing aid compliance, security, phone, and voice command.

Where is the aforementioned "vibration"?

actually theres another option for vibrate. go to settings, personal, input, then options under touch input. there should be an option to stop the keys from vibrating there.

Are you on a sense 2.5 rom? I am & i don't have this option either, but I thought I'd mention it as something to check.

This is starting to drive me crazy. I've tried reg edits & everything & I can't get my keys to stop vibrating.

i like the vibration. im on energyrom right now, and i do have the above mentioned option. my stock pro2 doesnt though.

Thank you very much for posting that picture. It really helped. And you were right, by following your instruction I was able to stop the keyboard vibration.

I had SPB Mobile shell, so when I select setting, I don't see the screen you posted. It goes straight to "all settings" where you have 3 folders "personal", "system" and "connection". That was why I couldn't find "personalize".

I had to go to "Today" screen, turn on sense 2.5, then go to Sense's today screen, then to the "setting" tab to find the "personalize" option.

But all's working. Needless to say I clicked the "thank you" button!

lol I wish I found this thread yesterday. I got it to turn off by searching my registry for "Vibrat" and I found this:

hklm/software/keyboardConfig/VibrateOnKeyPress I set it to 0 and the keyboard doesn't vibrate.

I turned a few other vibrate things off also, so it MIGHT not be this

that's odd. I guess it's different in Mr X's 6.5 rom. It's running 6.5 and sense 2.5.2012 (which I believe is the same as Sprint.)

I've been able to get rid of the vibrate while scrolling through the Sense tabs etc...but the one that is buggin me the most is when I use the dialer....every time I press a # on the screen it vibrates....and I called up HTC and Sprint and they say there is no way to disable that...I call BS.....there has to be a way....thats the only time my phone vibrates is when I type the phone #'s......any ideas?

you can also go here for the calculator

Chanage Vibrate = 0

this should stop the vibrations on number pad and calculator...

I have an opposite problem. I want the vibration on but it doesnt work for some reason - no idea, turned off on its on. BAsed on this thread, I checked the following:

1. Settings - Personalize - vibration - box checked for "Vibrate when I tap buttons in HTC Sense, phone dialer, keyboard, youtube etc"

2. Registry:
HKLM\software\HTC\Phone\PhoneExtendedSetting\
KeyPadVibration = 1

HKLM\Software\HTC\Calculator
Vibrate = 1

hklm/software/keyboardConfig/
VibrateOnKeyPress = 1

Any clues?

very strange indeed.. but is no surprise to me that after the 6.5 upgrade phones are acting weird.. for some odd reason my on screen qwerty stopped vibrating without me editing anything... sometimes options on the phone do not work even if they are activated like in your case.... my advice is to do a hard reset of your phone...

I figured out what the problem was. It was because of the "Mighty Blinking LED cab" I had installed. The vibration came back as soon as I uninstalled it even without restart.

Ok, so I went through and turned random virbate things off and found hklm/software/htc/ezsip "VibrationEnabled" and set it to 0.

also hklm/software/oem/KeyState "KeyVibratorState" is 0

For those of you who STILL have vibration, even with the above help, here is one registry key that should work for you. I am not using Touch Flo and I hated that there was no menu to turn off vibration. Go here are set the value to 0:
HKLM\Software\OEM\TFLOSettings\ApVibrationOn ---> Set this to 0 and it is like going to the Touch Flo menu that was mentioned above. This is the ONLY thing that worked for me!

My TP2 went to my son to replace his stolen TP2 and I got a replacement yesterday. Heck the 6.1 settings were a breeze, this 6.5 had me looking all day until I found this and then I started looking and the vibes are anti-vibers now. Thanks.

I used all of these settings to completely disable the tactile feedback for everything on my Sprint 6.5 TP2. Thank you! :toothy7:

All other registry hacks were useless.... yours is the only one that worked....
