G-Sensor Stops Working
I'm having a problem with the G-Sensor. This only started after flashing the new Sprint ROM. I am running SBP MS 3.5.3 and also use Pocketshield 3.2.9.5. I don't know if either of these are the cause. I ran them both on the 6.1 stock ROM fine. The features I'm missing most are the pocketshield unlock by gesture (flipping the phone upsidedown, then back to unlock it) and the pocketshield in call auto screen unlock. I'm not sure what stops it from working, but when it goes bad, the g-sensor calibrate tool doesn't work, teeter doesn't play (the ball gravitates towards one corner) and the only way the screen will rotate is if the keyboard is extended.
A soft reset will fix it, but only temporarily. I've been considering a custom ROM to see if that'll resolve it but I'm not sure that will help. I have done several hard resets but the problem keeps returning. I don't think it's a hardware issue because a soft reset will fix it. Anyone else having similar problems? Any ideas for solutions? Thanks in advance. |
Re: G-Sensor Stops Working
I had this problem ALOT when i was on 6.1; I narrowed it down to a changescreen cab. Now on sprint 6.5 I have had the problem ONE other time; I have yet to narrow down as to why but I have not had the problem since.
I too have pocketshield but do not use anything besides the slide to unlock feature. |

Re: G-Sensor Stops Working
I recently got a replacement TP2 and ended up having the same problems with it. I have narrowed it down to SPB Time 3.2.1 causing the problems. Whenever an SPB Time alarm would go off, shortly afterward the G-Sensor would stop working. I have now uninstalled SPB Time 3.2.1 and am now using G-Alarm 1.5.1 and an older version of SPB Time 2.2.2 without any problems. I also run SPB Mobile Shell 3.5 and Pocketshield 3.3.0.8. The way those three apps work together could have also caused my problems, but removing SPB Time 3.2.1 seems to have fixed it.
Any ideas how these could effect the G-Sensor? Anyone els experiencing similar symptoms? |
