Thanks for the ideas. I decided to go to 6.5, then to the Sprint Lovers custom ROM. Mucho better, everyone gets a Thanks.....

As far as I can tell, yes. He just selected a wallpaper he didn't like and assumed it was some sort of software bug.

for the record, it was probably your battery monitor at the top of the screen.
