Having issues upgrading my tp2

Well I just got the phone today after using tp 1 for few years. Great phone but I"m trying to upgrade my tp 2 from 6.1 to 6.5 but in the ruu I get error 202 connections but yet on activesync i'm sync everything besides media player. What can be wrong? Anyone know? Please need to update this asap!:drunken:

if you are using vista or windows 7, try right clicking on the installer, and selecting "Run as Administrator"

Put your phone in bootloader mode.(hold vol. down +power, push stylus into soft reset hole)
Then run the update utility as normal.

Dezi,

I recently upgraded from a Windows XP to a Windows 7 computer and realized that after all of my issues with booting my phone into other cooked ROMs, which I couldn't do with my Windows XP computer, was all about the USB mode being realized after my phone went into bootloader. Check to make sure that when your phone does reach bootloader that the "USB" appears at the bottom of the screen. If it doesn't, you'll need to download the Qualcomm driver to recognize the phone while it is in this status. As per Hypnotic's suggestion, you would put your phone into bootloader, then run the update. Like I said, just ensure that it says "USB" at the bottom of your screen.

Oh wow, I def had a feeling that it was my computer side issue with not recognizing the phone but it did with activesync. I'll def try this tonight hopefully get it working. But few questions, when you say bootloader what does that mean? Like at the start up of the phone? Because when I connect to activesync it asks my if I want to connect to activesync or file transfer and I choose activesync and thats it, connects auto to my activesync then nothing else happens. :dontknow:

Bootloader is the tri colored screen that shows up when you execute the button combo in my post.

yea still having the same problem error 202 even in bootloader. Also in bootloader the bottom screen does change from serial to usb. So I don't know whats wrong? It's has to be from the computer side? Do I have to unlock the phone in order to do this?

If you are trying to flash any rom besides the official 6.5 update from Sprint or HTC it will have Hard SPL flashed on the device. So if its any custom rom from this site you will need to unlock.

Official update:http (No unlocking neccesary) http://www.htc.com/us/support/touch-...int/downloads/
