Unlock extra tools in sprint's 6.5 comm manager

adds the following to your comm manager...

Ringer (change to vibrate mode)
Internet Sharing (launch Internet Sharing)
Beam (Turn off/on)
ActiveSync (launch acvtivesync)(finally keeps it closed when not in use.)

with any registy editor got to

HKLM/Software/HTC/CommManager

Change the string SupportedFunctions from default 6 to 10.

Now using advanced config. Click on Menu(bottom right corner), then More settings, then Comm Manager. Now checkoff the 4 additional options you want added to you Comm Manager. If you press ok on the bottom left corner you"ll recieve an error...On/Off button style supports only 6 functions.. so click ok in the upper right corner. Click Done on the bottom left and yes to soft reset.

Your comm manager should now have those added functions.

Re: Unlock extra tools in sprint's 6.5 comm manager

I couldn't tell ya.?.. beaming is sending files to other devices via bluetooth or infa-red. It might enable/disable our phones to send and recieve files thru bluetooth without having to manually enable in bt settings.

There are an additional 2 options you could replace the beam function with.

IP Phone and 3G. I couldn't tell you what those enable either but they must to something?

Re: Unlock extra tools in sprint's 6.5 comm manager

FYI...Only change the SupportedFunctions string to the amount of functions you actually want to add or Comm Manager will fail.

i.e. if you only want to add ActiveSync and Internet Sharing change the string to 8.

I thanked the OP, but not you because I already have the advanced config tool. Sometimes my Data Connection Off/On button goes to connections instead of turning on or off.

I think there should be some grace shown here. Where is the joy in helping if there is an expectation, much less a demanding, of thanks? Seems pretty shallow to me, all this begging for Thanks that I see around here and in signatures.

Does the TP2 even have an IR port?

No. The Mogul was the last in this lineage to have one

Thats crazy...Did you do the registry edit 1st??

have you tried soft resetting the phone??

Re: Unlock extra tools in sprint's 6.5 comm manager

Yes, followed all the instructions. Soft reset, uninstalled and reinstalled, no luck. Finally hard reset and restored a backup. Will live without this fix, sadly.

Sorry to hear about having to hard reset. Which rom are you using? this worked for me on sprints 6.1 & the new 6.5.. Has anyone else ran into similar problems?

That's strange... I've used advanced config on several devices and think its a great tool.. i've never had any issue's with it.

LOL The Critic I thought they stopped that show. Since you have the free time how about helping the issue at hand you seem like a smart.....guy.
