Show Caller's State on Dialer
 

I have a VzW TP2 running a stock 6.1 rom. My dialer's answer screen does not show the caller's state. I understand other TP2's show this.

Is this disabled by VzW? Is there a reg edit to enable this function? Thanks.

try the latest styock rom from verizon. i think its winmo 6.5 not 6.1, that may help you.

Sauman has a cab out that shows not only state but major city based on area code, it's all reg edits, you can give that a shot, don't think it would hurt either way, and I believe you can uninstall if you need to as it's a cab.

you can upgrade but it will do nothing for you. there are many verizon users in that thread saying it don't work.verizon doesnt have it.

The problem for Bullydawg is that he is still running the VZW stock 6.1 ROM. This ROM did not have a dailer compatible that would show State in the call screen so the regedits did nothing for him since he didn't have a compatible dialer.

6.5 Stock VZW would get him the upgrade he needs then he can install sauman's cab.

Edit: Just read kaos post... sorry for all the VZW poeple....

Unlock that TP2 and flash to Mighty if you want something close to stock... do lots of reading though. You will need to...

But this doesn't make sense. The dialer is picking the state by area code so why wouldn't the stock vzw dialer do it. I don't see it being something the dialer pulls from the provider. Raidzero stated he is using the stock 6.1 dialer is his rom so an upgrade to 6.5 isn't necessary.

Not ready to take the plunge to switch to 6.5 yet. Happy with 6.1 and hear lots of moaning about 6.5 update.

Equally gun-shy about a ROM flash. Too much re-customization! And this small feature isn't enough to switch over.

I agree with Rhodium500 -- this should be doable, even with 6.1 and whoever the carrier is...

Interestingly, Sauman's cab is what started me on all of this. I installed it and no luck! No state, so no city/state either! ](*,)

if you read sauman thread many verizon users both 6.1 and 6.5 stock say its a no go.
