Wm 6.5 Device Lock .. Does It Work??
 

Hello,

I have MightyRom's latest ROM installed with my Sprint TP2. I love the combination except for one thing: I cannot seem to get the device lock to work.
That is, I can lock the device from a shortcut (I also use SPB Mobile Shell) but if I tilt the device then touch the screen, the device becomes unlocked, and anything that was touched on the SPB Mobile Shell is then invoked.

Is there anyway to fix the lock mechanism? ](*,)

sounds like a spb issue.

Have you tried running it with touch flo and locking/unlocking it? Like Rhodium said...it's probably something with the mobile shell

I quit using the SPB lock feature and am now using S2U2.

I was able to make the device unlock without mobile shell once. But since, I have not been able to reproduce the unlock with the stock WM 6.5 UI. I will have to look into S2U2. SPB has been ZERO help in diagnosing this problem. :evil4:

i use smart lock to kick start my stock 6.5 lock. Works amazing and best of all its free.I tried throttlelock, s2u2, and a few other. Found they all used more memory then i liked. Stock uses hardly any.Plus there are a few nice stock device lock skins around. So here check out smartlock. after installing lock your phone manually. after that its good to go .even after a reboot.

i placed zip on sd and then went in that route via file explorer to install works fine here. i can direct link if needed its off pocketpc

Yes, the attachment is corrupt as this writing. Only thing is, I've heard at least one person say it doesn't work on the new ROM ?? Will try it. The lack of incall lock is really bugging me on this new ROM.

Edit: it works great so far (I had it on my SD card already, just never used it before). I'm not sure what the person who said it didn't work was smoking. Maybe they forgot to configure it. Also locks in-calls. AWESOME. kaos thanked!

After a lot of playing, I removed SPB mobile shell and installed smartlock 1.9B. The problem was definitely SBP Mobile Shell. I love Mobil Shell's UI, but it would not stay locked!

I submitted a bug report to SPB weeks ago, no answer from them yet. Me thinks the answer will be "upgrade to SPB Mobile Shell 5.0", instead of fixing current.

Smartlock is doing the job! Thanks to all who responded!

FYI...

I'm on 6.5/2.5 now and SmartLock will not work on the In Call Lock. All other features seem to work fine. Worked on 6.5/2.1.

Seems to me like Smartlock is completely broke on WM6.5. Also, on WM6.5 with 2.1, the bottom right softkey had lock on it. in Sense 2.5 it has menu, and there is no lock function, so I cannot even manually lock the screen.

So how do you lock the screen in WM6.5/Sense 2.5?

It worked with 1.7E, which I had and "upgraded" to 1.9E, which featured the ability to lock when plugged into AC, but that had some bugs, so I went to 2.0F, which doesn't work with the Rhodium Keyboard configurator, so I tried 2.0E, which works with the keyboard config but lo and behold the in-call lock isn't working.

I will try to find 1.7E and see if that works again.

Try this version, 1.7E. You lose some functionality like locking sounds and the ability to lock automatically when plugged in, but it does appear to support in-call locking (I just tested it and it works).

You hit start, then left softkey ("lock"). Also someone here cabbed up a way to set the left key to "lock" at the home screen for sense 2.5, it's called Device Lock Left Softkey SENSE 2.5.cab. If you do a search on that it should come up.

Need to add that SmartLock 2.0F from the XDA site broke the volume buttons on my TP2 running 6.5/2.5 (mighty 3-23). Went back to the 1.7E cab in this thread and its working perfectly.
