LED on SMS stops blinking after 5 min
 

On the 6.5 ROM, I found the fix to do the SMS bubble in a few posts below, but i'm not sure how to fix the LED issue.

When I get a SMS, it blinks, then it goes away after 5min. I dont like to turn my screen on all of the time to see if I have a message, that's why I like it to blink until I clear it.

I noticed under the sounds and notifications section where you check display message on screen, below it shows... flash light for....then a drop down box that is grayed out with 5min.

I want to change it, yet I dont see how since it is grayed out.

Does anyone know how to get that so I can change the 5min?

i have been trying to get mine to stop blinking! If you check the bugs thread, post #40, pg4. there is a cab that reenables the led option. But after i installed it, i cant make any changes on the 'settings' tab > sounds & display.

Guess if the cab fails to fix it, no use installing.
I just dont know why they would gray it out.

on vins rom you can set it for 60min. are you checking the box to enable length of time to blink?

I ended up changing the reg from 5 to 0. 0 is no limit. So
If you dont want it to blink, 1 might be off. Not sure.

I use PHM Regedit, and I went to the following...

HKCU\Control Panel\Notifications

If you scroll down, you should see something that looks like A877D65B.....

You'll see the name "Duration" it should probably say 5 and that means 5min

I hit the edit button, and changed it to 0. 0 means NO LIMIT. This is what I use because if I set my phone down and walk away for 20min or 2hrs, if I look at it and it is blinking, I know I have a message. When I select it, the LED disappears, and I go about my business. Wont blink again till something comes through

under start>settings>sounds and notifications, switch to the notifications tab and switch to the sms settings, there you have the option to change the length of time the light blinks.

[I Clicked] Thanks, this is what I have been looking for all day :headbang:...

That option is voided on mine and can't be changed in the drop-down menu, others are having this problem as well...

this might help us...just dug it up over at XDA...although prob relevant for 6.1 , i'd imagine the Registry paths are the same

I've already switched back to 6.1 so I no longer have that problem. What's funny, is the drop down box in 6.1 is NOT grayed out. I can change it at will from No limit to 5min, to 60min.

So I dont get why they messed with it in 6.5

In that same registry string if you change the AvailableOptions key to 15, the check box for the duration will become active.
