Re: Offical Bugs List with Sprint Touch Pro 2 - WinMob. 6.5 Update

first thing i installed was google maps and after the first load it was fine, but after a few hours the program errors with a message as follow;

Internal error
c:\workspaces\gmm-4-0-branch\googlemobile\src\cpp\googlenav\common\recou rce_loader.ccp:61

this error happened twice as i installed it twice on the storage card but have not made an attempt to install in the internal memory.

sorry if this was posted before me, has anyone encountered this or what?

Don't bother calling. It's a known issue with your Airave.

When I'm on mine at home it puts me on the other side of the state, 200 miles away.

Do you notice better performance with your Airave? I noticed immediately that I have a constant full signal on the phone at all times now and before when I was running Mighty I would only get a full signal when I was in a call. I also notice that my data transfer rates overall seem much better. I'm sure this is all most likely coming from the new radio.

sprint phones dont use full signal unless its needed I mean whats the point of a full signal wasting your battery if its just sitting in your pocket? never understood why airave shows full though maybe casue its so close but ah well

Isn't the signal stength indicator based on received signal and not transmitted sginal? My TP2 Shows full strength right now and it isn't doing a thing.

I'm having a problem with Opera. It keeps stopping. Sometimes it will restart, complete with the HTC splash, other times it just goes back to the inernet tab. Almost every time I start Opera, it starts from scratch instead of going back to the last page I was on. Anyone else seeing this?

I have the same issue. Plus, cleartype is not enabled when in landscape mode and does not allow you to check it on either.

This is a bug with WM in general, not specific to the Sprint ROM. It's easily corrected by adding a registry key. Feel free to search the forums for cleartype. I'd type it here, but I just switched to Moment so I don't have my TP2 handy to look it up.

I think you might have this a little backwards with how you are understanding it. The phones are designed in such a way that they will regulate transmit power based on the strength of the signal they are recieving without getting too technical. If you are recieving a strong signal the reasoning behind this would be that it would then take less transmit power from your phone to reach the tower and the same goes for a weak signal. If the signal is weak then it probably means it will take higher transmit power to reach the tower. It's the reason why your battery seems to run down faster when you are in a poor coverage area and your phone has to keep searching for a tower. I do know that I am now not having to turn on WiFi at home to make sure I have a good data connection and I still had to do that even with the Airave. I've read mixed info about the Airave and data though and questions about if it also helps with data. The latest firmware is "supposed" to but who knows. I never tried my Airave with a stock 6.1 ROM so I don't know if there was something different between the official ROM and a custom one that made the Airave treat the phone differently. I have also verified that when I shutdown my Airave my recieve signal on the phone goes in the crapper along with my data rates when trying to use the Internet. So far for the most part I have been very pleased with this ROM. All of the apps I need for work (Good Messaging, Rove Mobile Admin, etc.) work flawlessly and my data connections when using these applications seem much quicker.

I like to have an organized start menu. So I created several folders and put each program in different folders.

But I found that I cannot remove HTC_calendar and HTC_home shortcuts. Even I remove them, they will reappear after a soft reset.

Any fix for this?

Apparently when sense starts, the two shortcuts are created. I found a way around: you may set the two shortcuts as hidden in resco file explorer, and they will disappear in the start menu.

Not sure if this is a facebook or 6.5 issue.

I can log into my facebook account just fine using the new 6.5 facebook app. But when I try and see my friends list, mail, etc., the app just clocks and displays a 'Checking for Data' message, which NEVER goes away.

Any clues?

Does anyone know in 6.5 stock after flashing when you are on a call and place your phone down or on your ear and then look back if it goes back t home screen or does it stay on the dialer phone menu? This is a problem for 6.1. Thanxs
