Edit: Yeah I cant even open that directory from my computer. When I click my device it seems it shows everything but that directory. So just to let you know you are searching an answer to a problem that really has no solution. The only way to open the windows directory is straight from your phone. IMO. If there is a way then maybe someone can chime in with the answer. But like I said I am not able to open mine from the computer either. |

It may make a difference whether you're connecting and synching via ActiveSync or connecting without synching in WMDC. Is that the case? If you're synching, the Windows directory on your phone will be inaccessible from the computer.

Re: Does anyone know how to open the the windows mobile file on a vista pc
Windows Vista
To enable the viewing of Hidden files follow these steps: Close all programs so that you are at your desktop. Click on the Start button. This is the small round button with the Windows flag in the lower left corner. Click on the Control Panel menu option. When the control panel opens you can either be in Classic View or Control Panel Home view: If you are in the Classic View do the following: Double-click on the Folder Options icon. Click on the View tab. Go to step 5. If you are in the Control Panel Home view do the following: Click on the Appearance and Personalization link . Click on Show Hidden Files or Folders. Go to step 5. Under the Hidden files and folders section select the radio button labeled Show hidden files and folders. Remove the checkmark from the checkbox labeled Hide extensions for known file types. Remove the checkmark from the checkbox labeled Hide protected operating system files. Press the Apply button and then the OK button and shutdown My Computer. Now Windows Vista is configured to show all hidden files. that did the trick now i can view the windows dir on my mobile phone through active sync |

Also need to install the dev certs on your phone. This will enable the acess to your /Windows directory directly from your file explorer. I'd link them up, but you can search for them :) |
